Re: Anyone worried that Yu might listen to the fans too much

Do I think Suzuki will make a drastic move such as that? No, I don't. But there is a chance he might, especially since he has gone out of his way to say that he will abandon his old design philosophy of strictly following his vision and not be influenced by what others think. Pretty much this. The ...

Re: What if Shenmue 3 wasn't on PS4 and PC...

I would buy it, but I don't see the point of asking someone who is known for innovating to work on a several-generations-ago system. Wouldn't Yu actually want to take advantage of the new technology existing in 2015?

Re: Anyone worried that Yu might listen to the fans too much

words Really? I can't compare two things because they are in some ways different? I mean, I guess we can't ever compare any two things, right? I mean, if there's any game that can be compared to a film it would be Shenmue considering how many film-type professionals he collaborated with to make his...

Re: Anyone worried that Yu might listen to the fans too much

Seriously, Virtual-On came out in 1995, how in the world are there toy capsules for that? I just don't understand!

Re: Monday without a Kickstarter update is killing me

Anyone else picture the members of AJ slowly typing "what is paypal?" into their Bing search window as soon as the Twitch stream was over?

Re: Anyone worried that Yu might listen to the fans too much

So... Yu said calling cards wouldn't exist in that time period and yet he's including them. You Non-VF guys should be against that too, then, right?

Re: Ouch, the comments on the youtube trailer are harsh...

It's my hope that none of these worries are going to pan out, of course. It's amazing how much we accomplished given the chance to help our dream of Shenmue III become a reality. I mean, it's really happening! And I'm fairly certain that regardless of whether it ends up appealing to the modern audie...

Re: AwesomeJapan - postmortem performance

I think that if the kickstarter consisted of just the stretch goals, rewards, and a picture of poop on the KS page, we would have made about the same amount. What really bothered me about this campaign, and especially that last stream, was the lack of polish on just about everything. I understand th...

Re: Ouch, the comments on the youtube trailer are harsh...

To be completely honest, I don't disagree with a lot of the youtube comments. When a friend told me that there was a Shenmue III kickstarter I immediately searched for it, found it, and donated. I didn't research a single thing except confirming that Yu Suzuki was at the helm. Afterwards I watched t...

Re: Anyone worried that Yu might listen to the fans too much

Lucas/the Star Wars prequels is a bad example, because that was a case of him having no one say "no" to him and the end result being poor. The original Star Wars script was a boring mess, and the final film was saved by editors including his then-wife Marcia Lucas. It was collaboration wi...

Re: Anyone worried that Yu might listen to the fans too much

It's funny, I was going to post a thread exactly like this yesterday but didn't want to take away from the excitement of the campaign ending. This worry is legitimate, and it doesn't help that everything we hear from Yu is a translation because a lot of what he's been saying seems to suggest he will...

Re: Yu Suzuki has confirmed PayPal funding Post-Kickstarter

It was a good move on their part to delay the announcement. If Paypal was an option, a lot of people would probably say to themselves, "I'll donate later" and they probably wouldn't. Having paypal during the campaign would remove any sense of urgency. The problem with this is that we reall...

Re: Great, no one got the watch

I should say that this doesn't bother me all that much really. As others have said, they can always find another way to raffle off the merch. Or maybe they can preserve it in a Shenmuseum somewhere, idunno. In the end, any trolling didn't really matter. The money lost didn't put us in jeopardy of lo...

Re: Shenmue III Kickstarter Ends At $6,333,295; 69,320 Backe

It was so exciting watching the KS page that last day. It was going up so fast! Thanks everyone for your donations. We did it!
