I was featured in Metro.co.uk's Games Inbox

So, over the years, my sporadic 'Shenmue 3' google search often yielded a hit from metro.co.uk. Their Games Inbox, which I think is posted twice daily, is a collection of reader submissions. Usually anything Shenmue related was rather negative in nature, and it definitely seemed like those who run t...

Re: I replayed Shenmue II disc 4 last night

I couldn't help but play through part of Disc 4 last night, despite only being on the first disc of Shenmue I of my first post-announcement play of the game. I'm always astounded that within 5 minutes, it feels like a drastically different game than the previous Hong Kong and Kowloon portions. And t...

Re: Why do you think Lan Di flew away?

This also really bothers me and I sure hope that this part of the story isn't brushed aside, but I guess that depends on if Zhu remains a key character. Ryo spent the entirety of the game thus far trying to find Zhu - why did he ask so few questions when he finally met him? Ryo barely learned anythi...

Re: And I'm still finding new stuff on Shenmue 1! o_O

I actually found an old topic I made about the weather in Shenmue II. I was wondering if you were able to transfer your save file and start Shenmue II in January you could see snow. But I was quickly educated that, as Bluemue mentioned, snow really doesn't happen in Hong Kong.

Re: Saying Goodbye to Joy?

And how do I trigger the conversation about Gui Zhang and Master Chen? I seem to recall it happening in the arcade... It happened in Worker's Pier for myself, she was stood to the left of the pier as you enter, just past the stalls. I'd love to know how to trigger it again too! I also can't remembe...

Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter Trailer Dub with Corey Marshall

I think a fitting start to Shenmue III would be Shenhua's house. A big close up of the Shenmue tree, perhaps. But I'd love to see more Guilin scenes from Shenmue 2 re-done a la the Kickstarter preview (with improved models of course). I wonder when they're going to drop the firefly scene that you ca...

Re: Saying Goodbye to Joy?

I was thinking about conversations with Joy earlier today. You can't say goodbye to her as you do with the other characters, but I think you can find her. The conversation doesn't mention any good-byes, though. And how do I trigger the conversation about Gui Zhang and Master Chen? I seem to recall i...

Re: And I'm still finding new stuff on Shenmue 1! o_O

Hopefully no one objects to my bumping of this topic, but it's one of my favorite discussions and I've remembered it quite well over the years and I was finally able to find it. Not only is it a nostalgia kicker, these hidden conversations truly highlight what makes this game so special. While I bel...

Re: Training Your Move Set in Shenmue is Appalling

I once spent hours upon hours mastering each and every move, save for the throw moves which you couldn't really practice. It was an insane time investment and rather pointless, but as a young teen who loved Shenmue it was fun for me. I was pretty disappointed to learn that some moves develop a new f...

Re: 4gamer interview touching the character perspective syst

Ah, if I had been paying attention at the time of the AMA one of my questions would have been if the player would control characters other than Ryo. Now that the story is really opening up, and Ryo has teamed up with Shenhua, it's not just his story any more, so this doesn't surprise me very much. G...

Re: Shu Yoshida clarifies "Are they or arn't they funding?"

The reason that it's so ambiguous is that they are waiting to see how much is hauled in via kickstarter before finalizing the budget. Sony - and any other backer - will want to see how much Yu is getting from us before throwing any numbers out there. Makes sense to me - I understand the ambiguity is...

Re: Police Involvement

Call the police from one of the telephones in the game and you have your answer.

One must assume the police took a report and recognized the death, but in that era even the police were probably not willing to get too involved with dangerous gang groups like that.

I think he posted in one of the two announcement topics. Hard to miss that avatar. I could be wrong, though.
