Re: Daily Shenmue - Starting November 29th

this time I'll only be playing an in-game day each day, no more, no less. If time skips forward for Ryo, then I am not allowed to play Shenmue until the realtime day and ingame day sync up again. Anyone wanting to join me is welcome--although I understand why it may not be super appealing of a play...

Re: PhantomRiverStone: Jumbo Jet / Fighter Jet Cutscenes

Ah, didn't remember that there is a "Long Range Jet" capsule toy. It would totally make sense for it to be reused though. Time for some more capsule toy buying! Edit: Here it is. The toy looks very similar in terms of the shape of the body and wings, but there are some differences in the ...

Thank you for mentioning me. Nice pictures, Switch!
I wonder if the model of the passenger plane is also the same as the capsule toy you can get, except the landing gear, of course.

Re: Iwao Hazuki's China Visit Diagram

In Shenmue I & II Ryo gathered various pieces of information about the visit father made to Hong Kong & Guilin all those years ago, so I've tried to bring these together into a diagram showing some of these relationships and timelines. The diagram includes some assumptions / guesses, which ...

Re: PhantomRiverStone: Ryo & Ren Video | AM2 Summer Festival

I can imagine how fun it must have been to watch it at the event. The energy and craziness of the video is great, and the two actors really have a good rapport. It really was fun. They could succeed as a "Manzai (comic dialogist) duo," don't you think? So the year "2000" w...

Re: PhantomRiverStone: Ryo & Ren Video | AM2 Summer Festival

Interested to know if people find the video amusing, or too over the top? Good job, as always, Switch-san! Those fast nonsense conversations must have given you headaches. It's a shame they wrote "2000" instead of "2001" as the year. Also, I wonder why Dou Niu's narration which ...

Re: Yu Suzuki at the AM2 Summer Festival: 2001 article

I've put up a translation of an article on my blog which is about the AM2 Summer Festival, an event held in Tokyo in early September of 2001. The event was attended by Yu Suzuki and helped to promote the soon-to-be-released Shenmue II. That was really a wonderful event; a big Shenmue fan gathering ...

Re: Muecas comic in English: Training in Guilin

Always great to see Kiyuu post. Have you experienced much excitement for Shenmue 3? Do you think once it is released, there will be a lot of new fans? Always great to see your extraordinary devotion to Shenmue. Congrats on the dream dinner with Yu-san! At the announcement of Shenmue III, I busied m...

Re: Muecas comic in English: Training in Guilin

Always appreciate your comments, Kiyuu. Do your fellow Japanese fans from back in the day still communicate with each other since the demise of the BBS? I would hope that the long-awaited announcement of Shenmue III re-ignited the fanbase somewhat, and that there's still a place for you all to chat...

Re: Muecas comic in English: Training in Guilin

Ha ha, how great to have been able to interact with the staff members like that. It's probably a part of the Shenmue history that non-Japanese fans may not be so familiar with. Japanese Shenmue fans had been interacting with the Shenmue team even before the release of the first game. The Shenmue BB...

Re: Muecas comic in English: Training in Guilin

Wow, so you were an official Muecas team member! Did you also have things published on the pages, and have interaction with the Shenmue project team? If you did, would love to see / hear about those. Since I'm not an artist like Anii-san or most of the fellow Mucas-dan members, my contributions wer...

Re: Muecas comic in English: Training in Guilin

The comic was drawn by the Muecas team, which consisted of actual Shenmue project members. Actually, アニィたかはし (Anii Takahashi) who drew the comic was not an official Shenmue project team member, but one of us, Shenmue fans. Muecas-dan was formed by the official Shenmue team to communicate with fans ...

Switch wrote: Perhaps he will be documenting how to use the MVN software for other developers in his team.

Possibly. According to this page, MVN itself is a "professional motion capture system." I'm not computer expert like you, but could he mean the hardware as well?

Re: Kickstarter Update 59 (I Guess, Haven't got the email ye

⋅ Note 1 is titled "MVN Development" with some notes underneath. One looks like it might say "fly". Aha! That makes sense. MVN Studio is the name of the software used to develop with Xsens, the 3D motion tracking technology being used in Shenmue III. ⋅ Note 2...

Re: Kickstarter Update #58 - Keiji Okayasu Returns for Shen

As for the subtitle: "Occasionally, there are even times when the mountains along the Li River bring misfortune..." Could Shenhua be talking about the very same mountains found on the picture in her house??? Some connection there? If so, then it's theory time. Actually, that line couldn't...
