Re: How do you hope they handle the load screens?

I reckon some of those "loading screens" did a bit more than just loading things. Mainly procedural generation of the areas that used it (Guilin Forests, Kowloon buildings and such). So even if they load the entire game in RAM, there will be some wait to have. In addition, I guess the new ...

Re: Shenmue on Switch Speculation Thread

It's only a guess, but since they are working with the original Dreamcast source code as a base,it might be more difficult to add another platform than if the game was based on UE4 or another modern engine. And Switch has an architecture that is more unique than the rest, being based on ARM and Nvid...

Re: Sales prediction (first year)

I will discount -100K from my prediction, for people that will go to stores and see the game, but hesitate to buy it because they'll get stuck wondering if it's a port, a remaster or a remake :-P

(Joke post, to get it a little back on topic)

Re: Sales prediction (first year)

Of course it would be poetic beauty for it to sell exactly 2.33 million copies, making exactly $70M in revenue. And making Sega recoup that infamous figure 19 years later... :-)

Re: Sales prediction

Yeah, I was intending lifetime sales. But knowing it's a Steam game that will hang on forever, we could limit it to first year sales. I predict a little more than 200K sales for the PC version, more or less the same as the Bayonetta port. But adding the PS4 and Xbox versions I would bet it will be c...

Re: Shenmue 1 & 2 will be $29.99

Assuming it will have all the arcade games, I think $29.99 would be a fair price even for only an arcade collection of Hang-On, Space Harrier, Outrun and After Burner. When we were speculating about the remasters, before the announcement, I always thought they would sell both games separately for ar...

Sales prediction (first year)

Now that we know the general traits of the remasters, the platforms it will be on, the price and even some vague estimation of its release window, I think we have most elements to have a little fun speculating about how many copies the game will sell. Which is a serious and crucial aspect for the fu...

Re: Nice to have Features for HD Release

I know it's extremely unlikely, but I would love to have HDR support.

Re: Will Shenmue III's budget affect the quality of the musi

I'm not worried but I'm REALLY curious about how they will handle the music. Not only the compositions themselves, but the technology used to make it. Will it be based on plain audio files (ADX/WAV/MP3) or will it be track-based (like most ambiental music on the Dreamcast installments). Will they on...

Re: New Ryo & Shenhua models from press release

This is the ugliest thing I've seen in my life. Well after you said that you would personally feel betrayed if Lan Di smiled once in a way that displeased you, I don't think anyone here seriously cares what you think. I barely understand the purpose of this message apart showing your feelings deepl...

Re: New Ryo & Shenhua models from press release

Some explanations I've been kicking about for the logo. 1. Deep Silver have taken it upon themselves to design a placement logo as YSNET had decided to change the logo from the paraypus font to something else. 2. Deep Silver just drafted this up for the press release. Nothing more 3. The new logo w...

Re: New Ryo & Shenhua models from press release

Being in the press release (and I reckon in the unveiling of the game next week), I think the models and the logo are final, and I wouldn't expect them to change substantially in the future. But they are perfectly fine to me!! Even in past materials there were subtle differences in the models betwee...

Re: Missing chapters in Saturn version?

We don't know when they made the decision of bringing the Shenhua encounter earlier. Maybe it was before or during the Saturn version development, and thus there's no additional content. But yeah, it would be super interesting to get a hold of that Saturn version!
