Re: "Unlike Shenmue II it won't use the Virtua engine."

to whom he lost to about 10 times in a row before he broke the disc in rage. It wouldn't be until the game came out on the original Xbox that I'd get the chance to finish it ;/

Open or closed casket, or was it a cremation?

Re: "Unlike Shenmue II it won't use the Virtua engine."

Sleeping Dogs fighting looks cool, especially the over the top enviromental attacks, but it's way to automated and routine. The slow motion is also too "oooh look" and breaks the flow a bit. In Shenmue there were always certain types of fighting styles the enemies would have but it was st...

Re: "Unlike Shenmue II it won't use the Virtua engine."

As always, wait and see. Yu has talked about deepening the RPG mechanics, and how learning moves through the story and earning them in the world (by money or other means, IDK) will play a part in progressing to (and I think these are his own words) beating a powerful boss. Even ignoring what he's s...

Re: "Unlike Shenmue II it won't use the Virtua engine."

I appreciate the reply man, thank you. After reading all that it really sounds like Arkham and Sleeping Dogs like combat, yeah the combat in Sleeping Dogs is pretty but Shenmue had you feeling tense. It made you want to learn moves and practise so you can get better and utilize those moves in combat...

"Unlike Shenmue II it won't use the Virtua engine."

The fighting engine in Shenmue III is being built from scratch, and unlike Shenmue II it won't use the Virtua engine. This is very, very worrying. About 60% of Shenmue's charm was how inticrite and unique the fighting system was I hope it doesn't go in a sleeping dogs/uncharted/arkham like system. ...

Re: Shenmue 3 trailer is FINALLY HERE!!

Looking good. I'm actually liking both Ryo and Shenfa in trailer and in the stills. They look good with plenty of opportunity to change the face animation. This Ryo is pretty much the same Ryo we know from the previous Shenmues, just darker south China tan. https://www.famitsu.com/images/000/140/08...

Re: New Screens + Note From Yu via Playstation Blog

The models in these screens look so much better than in the trailer. Ryo does look younger but when you think about it, he's only 18, if anything he looked too old in the older games. He looks like a pure kid in this, more legit, might make you more afraid for him when he gets the shit kicked out of...

Re: Shenmue 3 trailer is FINALLY HERE!!

Backgrounds and environments look absolutely incredible but the models, i'm sorry look very bad. They look like user created characters in WWE games or Saints Row. Shenhua changed her clothes? I'm not bitching just wondering why the textures in 2001 look more lived in and real like Ryo's jacket and ...

Re: YSNET officially announce the delay of Shenmue 3.

I would actually be upset if it wasn't delayed, great news. Just hope Sega get their thumbs out their asses and get going on Shenmue HD.

Re: Why is Shenmue II better than Shenmue I?

- Save anywhere Is it bad of me to say I kinda liked how Shenmue 1 forced you to go home to save, just made it feel more urgent to get home, helped with the immersion. But I do understand why, especially in this fast paced day and age it's not practical for our ADHD, instant gratification Social Me...

Re: Shenmue 2 - Game Informer Super Replay

Kyle was spamming elbow assault in pretty much every fight, he even made Chunyan and Doh Niu look easy. Surely this game has a sliding difficulty level, as in when you fail numerous times the game makes free battles easier? I do not remember the fights being so forgiving.
