Re: Gaming Thoughts Of The Day 2.0

In another hilarious twist of fate a modder found a way to play SimCity offline, completely negating EA's claim that offline play was impossible . Let me just be clear, I have every sympathy for the engineers working long hours to get things fixed, or the PR representative who has to face all this c...

Embarrasing Game Moments

Are there any shameful secrets you have when it comes to gaming? I admit that I love RPG's, sink dozens of hours into games, but very rarely complete them.

Re: Gaming Thoughts Of The Day 2.0

^ Honestly, that would have been the ending I would have picked. It's truer to my playthrough of 1-3 because Shepherd never gave in and achieved the impossible every time despite being told otherwise. He also fought for diversity and celebrated it, knowing that the galaxy is stronger for it. So ...

Re: The Football Thread

Typical munich. Always comes down to that shit, doesn't it? It's only ever acceptible to have your foot raised that high when no other player's around you. There's a fuckin shitloada misguided mongos out there clinging to the word "intent" as if it's the definitive factor of a challenge t...

Re: The Football Thread

^ Those Man U fans I just have to shake my head at. Keane was a great player who helped us accomplish many things. I feel that those who are dismissive of him now are just knee jerk reactions to downplay him, which isn't right. But Keane, I don't know, he's not afraid to say it like it is but at the...

Re: The Football Thread

He was facing away from Arbeloa, eyes on the ball the whole time. Nani had every right to win the ball in that matter and Arbeloa had every right to go for the challenge to try to win it. It was a coming together between two players that I'll say warrants a yellow card. Never a red. Don't even give ...

Re: Tomb Raider

Played the first two hours. It is very guided, holds your hand a lot but it's still tutorialising, it'll get less restrictive I'm sure. The standout so far is the island itself. It's a very good looking game and the island looks stunning already.

Re: Metal Gear series

Rising is more connected to the events of 2 and 4 than other games so you can play it and not miss a beat with Peace Walker.

Re: Assassins Creed Series

Eurogamers preview here. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Just disappointed that the marketing tagline isn't "Yo ho ho, a pirates life for Wii (U, PC, 360 & PS3)"

Re: Assassins Creed Series

I like underwater sections, there's something inherently dangerous and mysterious about being underwater and in games like Tomb Raider, it often leads to things like hidden tombs/treasure. Sadly a lot of games today, not even the most recent Tomb Raider, give you the freedom of doing it. It would se...

Re: Assassins Creed Series

I don't mind so much either, if anything 4 might be more interesting now that they can exploit the engine more and refine the gameplay, in much the same way that Brotherhood was a better game than AC2. Hope the new character has more of a personality than Connor, who is proving to be not as good as ...
