Re: Does Anyone Here actually like Life Simulation in Games?

That being said, some of my favorites of all time are Sid Meier's Pirates, with its resource management and naval battle sim and Factorio, which had me feeling what would be like running a manufacturing plant in real life. The difference is that these two games had actual stakes and urgency tied to...

Re: Does Anyone Here actually like Life Simulation in Games?

Having real life like activities into our games help with world building. It makes the games more believable and relatable, less abstract I guess. But just up to a point to me. Like what south carmain said, it can often feel tedious and time wasting specially when nothing else happens with the game...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts (Read OP Before Posting)

I just found out about the Fatal Frame movie. Has anyone here seen it? Is worth watching? From what I remember it was actually not bad. It's a coming of age lesbian drama with a horror mystery theme to it. The movie is way too slow for my liking and the acting lackluster, but I did like the rite of...

Unfortunately it's already happening. Konami is on board with the business model through Metal Gear Survive, and Arc System Works...

Re: Possible Dreamcast Mini on the horizon

So from what I saw so far, the stuff I really liked are these bluetooth controllers: https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1574/15747411/3339362-img_5697.jpg https://i1.wp.com/www.seganerds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Dreamcast-Controllers.png?fit=1850%2C959 Very nostalgic, and Sega li...

I forgot to mention it'll be on the PS4 as well, given the limited edition for both systems are already available for pre-order.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts (Read OP Before Posting)

"If we had a live service on that, and we could keep people engaged, give them even more to play them, we would also be able to try and monetize them over time. That's a huge opportunity, to continue to build the live-service piece of our business." -Blake Jorgensen, EA's CFO Basically a ...

Re: Random Shenmue Thoughts

Lately I've been reminiscing about gaming and pondered about why after so many years of gaming (including skipping a couple of console generations) I still regard Shenmue as my personal greatest of all time. I managed to tie down the reasons to my fondest gaming experiences. As a kid my favorite ge...
