Re: shenmue 3's music(?)

My only concern is that with the old music vs the new music is that unless Iuchi has kept the same synth and MIDI sounds on his computer from the Shenmue 1 and 2 days, the new tracks will sound very different and create a clash. I hope for a consistent musical score that has a great variety as well...

Re: Random Thoughts

If somebody gets permanently banned from the Dojo, then yes we will be banning any alternate accounts they choose to create. Otherwise the ban is a bit pointless. It is rare for somebody to be permanently banned though, pretty much every user you've seen banned recently for "ban evasion" i...

Re: shenmue 3's music(?)

There's supposedly hundreds of leftover tracks from Shenmue I and II that have never been heard. If I recall, Yu intends to use a mix of these and new compositions by the original composer in Shenmue III.

Re: Random Thoughts

It wasn't just about what she was posting, it was about the amount of times she'd promise to cool her jets before inevitably tipping over the edge again. She was given plenty chances but it would always circle back round and her notations of changing her ways were never genuine. And it's not just th...

Re: Random Thoughts

Criticism is not a bannable offence. You won't be punished for expressing concern or fairly critiquing the project. However, accounts that are solely dedicated to criticising every element of the campaign or criticism that is riddled with misinformation and a lack of context may receive a warning. T...

Re: Kickstsrter Update #83 - Survey Info #0

I genuinely believe that we might be seeing a set release date for this sooner than we expect.

And congrats Peter!

Re: New Shenmue HD footage from PC GAMER show

https://puu.sh/AEbBC/7faf07e951.png https://puu.sh/AEbNH/5d463d0e80.png Yep, it does seem to be cropped. Interesting that they'd show that instead of the native 4:3 like in the reveal trailer. To me it suggests that they do eventually plan to sort out 16:9 cutscenes, otherwise they wouldn't be pres...

Let's Get Sweaty wrote: Is the show over and was anything said about the game beyond those inserted clips?

The show's still going at https://www.twitch.tv/pcgamer
And nah, it was just part of a SEGA sizzle reel, nothing was said about it.

Re: Release Date Speculation

With a game as dear to us as Shenmue, it's definitely an easy trap to fall into, so I don't blame you.
Of course it's a shame that we won't be seeing it at E3 but I'm confident that they're hard at work making it the best it can possibly be for release!

Re: Release Date Speculation

More bizzare nonsensical Sega decisions... -_- People are so quick to say stuff like this, yet will also moan and complain if they show it in an unfinished/WIP state (evidenced by the reveal trailer) . Maybe it's not ready to be showcased? Perhaps they're working on addressing the concerns raised f...

Re: New (old) Shenmue Online gameplay

Not sure how well known it is, but there's also this footage showing off the combat system in greater depth (including PvP):

Re: Purchasing Shenmue I & II HD on PC in restricted countri

Yeah you need to be very careful when doing this kind of stuff on Steam. If they pick up on it, they won't just remove the game but potentially even ban your entire account. I've read a few stories where this has happened to people so personally I wouldn't risk it.
