Re: You crazy sexy SOBS What is on your minds!

Well I got engaged a few days ago. So that's a thing.
Congratulations! :D What type of ring did you end up going with?

Decided to go in a bit of a different direction than what I was planning before.
It's white gold with a natural opal in the middle, and two pink sapphires on either side of it. We don't care so much about what's traditional, so it didn't matter if it had diamonds or not.
I liked it because no matter what lighting it's in, the opal and pink sapphires make it look like it's glowing. She loved it.

But you still popped the question in DC I take it.

I hope all is well between you two and I hear about your 50th wedding anniversary celebration in 2063 or whenever it is. (How long until the wedding?)

Re: You crazy sexy SOBS What is on your minds!

EDIT: After posting this I just read OL's news. Congratulations man!

I'm really excited. I've been back and forth with what I want to do in college but I always come back to one thing. I keep finding excuses for why I shouldn't but now I've decided to do what I love. So, I'm now officially a music theory and composition major with my instrument piano and a minor in guitar. Really excited for the future but I've got my work cut out for me. I must prepare to not have a social life at all for a while, haha.

Re: Batman 3

Big rant coming this way...

I only have one question. Where is Christopher Nolan? I'd like to know so I can ask him who the fuck he thinks he is, and who he thinks Batman is, because I thought he had an idea. Now, I know he hasn't. Fair enough, his brother and Goyer have a lot to answer for as well, but let's have a look at a few things...

First off, Gotham in Batman Begins was perfect. What seems to have been overlooked is the fact that Gotham is a character of it's own. This shone through in Batman Begins. Hell, it even did in Burton's Batman films and Batman Forever (to an extent) This was dropped in The Dark Knight. I was hoping because Nolan wanted it to be seen less as Batman's turf and more like the Joker's playground. I always had that belief, and I thought it worked. Now, you could argue that it was a more realistic and regular city in TDKR because it makes it seem more shocking that he's doing this to a real city, but I don't believe that. The transition from BB to TDK & TDKR was "Gotham City" to "Random city called Gotham" to, well, the same again.

Onto the characters. Bane was brilliant. Fucking fantastic. Until the painfully obvious twist that it's in fact Talia's who's behind it all. I know it wouldn't be obvious to someone who doesn't read the comics, but I feel offended that as a reader of Batman comics that I've essentially been ignored as far as the "audience" goes. I kinda feel cheated too. So, if it's Talia's plan n everything, then Bane has once again been relegated to intimidating thug. Not the mastermind he actually is. Thanks guys, loved that.

I've heard a lot of both negative and positive shit about Catwoman, and all I can say is that the performance was great. It's probably the most faithful adaptation of any of the characters in the Nolanverse, so I applaud that. She was, as Bruce Willis once famously said "...[she's] a fly in the ointment [...], a monkey in the wrench, a pain in the ass..." No doubt that she's the most spot-on adaptation of a character they've picked. Except for the fact that she wants out. Catwoman would never want out. What she does is simply too much fun for her.

I wasn't at all happy with Blake. Like Ramirez should have been Montoya, and the guy from LA Noire should've been Bullock, he should've been someone else. The Question, Tim Drake, anyone. Random character with a quite frankly silly reference to Robin thrown in? No thank you. He wasn't a character that was needed, wasn't at all relevant. Catwoman could easily have filled in the role of someone who cares about the orphans and keeps her ear to the streets, and he could've just been a detective working alongside Gordon. His little pep talk to Bruce was shite as well. Whilst JGL put in a good performance, Blake just wasn't a good character at all, and I've seen too many of the exact same character model in the comics. I mean, for fuck sake, it would've made so much sense for him to be that little kid from Begins, but just a random character they've decided is going to be the next Batman? That's just fucking laughable. Wouldn't have made the ending what it is you say? Don't get me started. Not yet.

It just seems that, amidst all Nolan's bitching about what he would and wouldn't do, he's just made himself look like a massive tit. He doesn't want to use villains that've already appeared in a Batman film? Did he miss Batman Returns and Batman & Robin? He also said he wouldn't want to over-saturate the film with villains like they did in Spider-Man 3 because of what it'd take away from the focus of the story and other characters. So, what, other minor characters are okay to steal precious screen time? The number of utterly useless characters was a sheer joke, and I again feel like I've been cheated. Cheated out of seeing the film that I went to see. I only hope that Nolan's involved in a potential sequel just for the sake of getting the cast back together. Other than that, I say good riddance.

Alfred's characterisation got ballsed up too. Yes, he left during the KnightFall saga, but he realised (thanks to a little help from Nightwing) that he had to come back, and was wrong to leave Bruce. The fact that he left and only came back for Bruce's memorial is a slap in the face of one of comic book's greatest characters and unsung heroes. Fox had a role just as small and insignificant too. His involvement almost seemed forced. I know that in certain ways he's needed, but it felt like he, Alfred, and even Gordon at times were an afterthought. Almost as if Nolan was essentially just doin his own film, and just using Batman characters to fill in roles.

Combining the Lazarus Pit and Santa Prisca Prison was a pretty decent idea, I'll give them that. I don't like the fact that they replaced Bane with Talia as the little kid who grew up in the prison though. Yes, it made sense that it was Talia. I'm not arsed that it was Talia. I'm more arsed about it not being Bane. If anything, it should've been a case of Bane not wanting her to succumb to the same fate that he did, so he climbed out of it with her holding onto his back. They just took so much away from Bane that it was almost heartbreaking.

The ending... The ending spat in the face of Batman. They thought they were wrapping up the legend of Batman in a satisfying way. Yes, it is a satisfying way to wrap up the legend of Batman, but it wasn't right. Not at all. He did three things. Three huge things, but is that seriously it? This film would've been a great conclusion if it was a fifth, sixth, ninth, or tenth film, whatever. A great way to end an illustrious career as a hero/saviour/whatever, but seriously? That's it? And the point has been made on several occasions that Bruce Wayne is Batman until he dies. Not retire. Neil Gaiman wrote it quite well. He isn't just going to retire and spend the rest of his days playing golf. Death is the only natural conclusion for him, and then somebody (Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, whichever) take over.

And how exactly do you expect to wrap up the (Bruce Wayne as) Batman legend without the Joker? Yes, Christopher, we all feel sorry for you that you lost a great friend in Heath Ledger. You think that we liked losing arguably one of, if not the best adaptation of the Joker? (I don't care what anyone says, Mark Hamill is good as the Joker, but Ledger took it to a whole other level) No, course we didn't, but it's something he needed to get over to give Batman a satisfying conclusion. Even if he was just let loose for the last half hour of the bomb's countdown to slow Batman down, he should've been there, and the fact that he wasn't just proves that the whole team behind the series lost their way.

The perfect solution to all the negativity would've been something Nolan didn't want. More films. Dent should've become Two-Face at the very end of TDK and carried over to a third film, as originally intended. Talia should've been introduced in the third film as a background character, to build up the grand reveal in the TDKR. You can't throw anyone off in the space of a film, it just doesn't work. Dick Grayson should've been involved, even if he was just Batman's eyes and ears on the streets. It should've been him to take over from Bruce in the end. Not some random arse character who's not even had any significant training outside the police academy. They just got so much shit wrong, and I blame us. The guys who praised BB & TDK. WB ended up putting too much faith in Nolan, almost as if he had free reign to do whatever he wanted.

Don't get me wrong, as far as films go, TDKR has a very good and very satisfying conclusion. But not for a Batman film. That ending would've worked well in a number of possible projects. Like I said though, it's almost as if Nolan had a film project in the works, and just applied Batman characters to it. Great, great ending. Wrong film. Besides that, it just reeked of the final episode of House.

I can't deny for a second though that I think the film was a clever mixture of The Dark Knight Returns, KnightFall, and No Man's Land. I thought it'd mainly be KnightFall, and I'm glad I was wrong. And the fanboy inside me couldn't help smiling this huge, cheesy grin when I saw Batman return in the first act. Actually, every time Batman was on screen, it was a great moment. I actually can't believe how well they did it, he had a hell of a lot more presence than he ever has done in any other film. Absolutely brilliant. Again though, as with every Batman film, he wasn't in it enough. It's almost as if people don't know how to make a film that focuses on Batman. Not Bruce Wayne, not the villains, not the supporting cast, I'm talking Batman.

The fight scenes also impressed me. I was very surprised that Nolan recognised that it's something he needed to work on (can't remember if it was Kenny, Joe Pesci, OL or Clint who mentioned how bad they were in the previous two) but I reckon he made up for it somewhat anyway. Loved how brutal Bane looked as well in the first fight with Batman. I woulda liked to have seen more damage on Bruce afterwards, that kinda disappointed me. The second fight didn't make much sense either. Bane almost seemed like he was pulling his punches. It would've made a hell of a lot more sense if they brought back the fear factor for Begins, set it at night, and Batman actually does put the fear of God into Bane through a mixture of his League of Shadows training and his old friends... Bats. Again, the fanboy inside me almost leapt for joy when the bats appeared as he crawled out of Santa Prisca, but I was hugely disappointed that they never expanded on the use of bats. Especially after how well they were used in BB, as they were completely absent from TDK. They shoulda used em more.

But yeah, there were plenty of absolutely brilliant moments in the film, and I wouldn't even consider calling it anything other than a really good film, but as the third Batman film in the Nolan series, it's shite. Like I said, it should've been Batman 5, 6, 9 or 10. The way I see it is that Begins was the best Batman film, TDK was the best film of the series, and TDKR as the best standalone film, whilst also being the worst in the series.

In conclusion, it would've been a brilliant ending to the Nolan series if more films preceded it, but they didn't, so as far as the over-arching story goes, the timing was woeful. It was rushed. Out of place. Whatever. It didn't work well like that. If you just ignore that though, and only take the in-film references into consideration, it was fucking fantastic, and a great amalgamation of three classic Batman stories.

So, whilst I'm distraught about the decision to cut everything so short in a manner such as this, I also come away from the film feeling that I got real value for money. Great film, but from the standpoint of a Batman fan(boy) and geek, totally and utterly wrong.

Rant over for now, but when I see it again, I'll probably have more to say. Oh, and somebody actually read this and reply to it, coz I've been typing this since I got back from the pictures and it'll otherwise seem like a massive waste of time.

Lamewad Music

Hey guys, I recently became a music major and not only do I get free 1 hour lessons in my instrument (piano) but I also get a half hour lesson in a second instrument! I've chosen guitar because I've taught myself some guitar but never really had lessons and would love to be get better. I'm also going to start taking voice lessons from my mom (also free) because she was a Music Education Major in Voice and she said she'd help me out :)

Anyway, I've started a channel on youtube to serve as a sort of improvement log. I've posted four videos; three videos from when I was in high school (they're pretty bad), and one "starter" video to begin showing off my progress (also bad haha :P). I want to post a video every month or so in order to help myself see how I'm improving over time. You don't have to subscribe or anything because I'm not really looking for that, but it's just something for myself that I figured I'd share with friends and family. You guys fall under the friends category... unless there's something I don't know about. Uncle Bob?...

Oh and this is going to be pretty much just Guitar and Vocals, no piano... unless I change my mind in the future.

Anyway my channel is Schmeman
http://www.youtube.com/user/Schmeman

And here's the first video. Thought I'd pick one of my favorite songs to start off with, "Place to Be" by Nick Drake.

I remember true crime LA being huge but lacking content and too big for no reason, the combat was stiff as well and the last boss was a bitch to beat for no apparent reason, NY was kind of fun but far from gta, I liked being able to plant drugs on people and buy music and that though also I was pretty big in to hip hop at the time and it kind of had that vibe

I remember playing an online game against this guy like 8-10 years ago and we exchanged where we were from, he was French and hated Armstrong worth a passion and this was only after 3 wins or so. That guy is probably happy right now, anything that makes that French bastard happy is not a good thing.

Re: Im Lance Armstrong and Ive won 0 Tour De France titles

I don't think they would have let it go until he was stripped of his titles regardless of passing tests. I think they were hellbound to get the verdict they did. They could threaten some diplomatic bullcrap if they disagree and it would never end. If we would have deemed him innocent then the French would have said "Your just doing that because he is American". They would have found an insult against them in any ruling other than the one they wanted.

This is all about politics.

Played the demo for the PSN release of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Absolutely loved it. Didn't really know what I was doing, but it was fun as hell anyway. I'll be keeping my eye out for the old Dreamcast release of it now.

I have the Dreamcast game and it's mighty fun. I recommend reading the manga in order to get all the references and tiny bits of fan-service they added (like you said you did for FotNS).

Re: Yakuza series

More goodies from Captain Epic at KHHSubs.

New Battle System

The concept of "Anyone can do it, it's simple, it's cool!", which is a feature of battles in the Ryu ga Gotoku series, is still present, but the fundamentals of the system have had a complete reform! Not just the attack and movement animations of the existing characters, but also the AI and the battle staging have been completely redesigned from scratch. The protagonists' engage in dynamic and realistic battles with plenty of emphasis on each character's idiosyncrasies.

The strategic and exhilarating new battle system has content which can be enjoyed by everyone who plays this game - both those who have played previous games in the series and those who are playing a Ryu ga Gotoku game for the first time.

In addition, this game introduces a new "Ultimate Technique" system - an exciting evolution to the battle system. "Ultimate Technique" is a powerful attack, unique to each character, which can be unleashed in battle when specific conditions are met. It overwhelms enemies and is easy to use, making "Ultimate Technique" a powerful weapon for the protagonists' in these new battles.

Kiryu Kazuma
Do not anger this man...

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/5877/photo0d.jpg

Kiryu's toughness, which earned him the name of "Dragon of Dojima", is still present in this game. He is an all-round fighter who knows a wide variety of techniques and has unyielding strength, no matter how many enemies he comes up against. The whole host of new techniques, as well as many familiar techniques from the series, he learns will get him out of all kinds of sticky situations.

Ultimate Technique - Pride of the Angry Dragon

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/2274/photo1kup.jpg

Kiryu's Special Heat is "Pride of the Angry Dragon", which releases all his built up anger. He thrusts himself into the face of an enemy attack and beats them down with an unforgiving and overwhelming attack. He is able to strike with many violent techniques with no holding back, as he takes out his anger on an opponent.

Saejima Taiga
This man with unrivalled, superhuman strength is even more violent!

http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/949/photo2sc.jpg

Saejima's overwhelming superhuman strength, which crushes anything in his path, is more refined. In addition to dealing a crushing blow with built up power, he can now beat down opponents with powerful charges and throws.

Ultimate Technique - Knowledge of the Ferocious Tiger

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1006/photo3bi.jpg

Making the most of his absolute superhuman strength, Saejima is able to use any object as a weapon. He can rip up the likes of signposts or other huge equipment set up on the streets and can beat down an opponent with the use of many special attacks, or by swinging it around as a weapon against the enemies in front of him.

Akiyama Shun
The Speed Star Soars!

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/2426/photo4co.jpg

Akiyama is skilled with his agile feet, with which he can turn on a dime. With his bombardment of hits, he doesn't even leave himself open to counterattack opportunities. He certainly lives up to his name of "Speed Star" when he makes sport of his enemies with his movement. He has a wide variety of consecutive strikes with which he gracefully crushes his opponents, coupled with a unique side of him as demonstrated by his characteristic taunt.

Ultimate Technique - Air Strike

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3272/photo5fv.jpg

Putting both his agility and footwork to good use, Akiyama attacks with an acrobatic air strike. He launches an opponent into the air with a powerful kick, then proceeds to unleash a graceful kick combo attack. He can play around with an opponent who falls back down with more attacks that will once again send him into the air.

Shinada Tatsuo
I don't care about doing it in style; I'll win MY way!

The new protagonist Shinada's style of fighting - "Do absolutely anything it takes to win" - Is different to that of the other characters. If he has a weapon he will naturally put it to use, and he has a wide variety of techniques, that are by no means graceful, used to recklessly wrestle enemies when he fights bare-handed.

Bare-Hand Fighting

http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/5351/photo6ctq.jpg

Shinada, the former baseball player, has both power and the ability to judge the exact moment to take advantage of opponent's weakness. If Shinada gets hold of an enemy, he can attack consecutively without ever releasing him. He can unleash a consecutive series of attacks - He can smash an opponent into a wall, then ram into him, then smash him into the ground. After that, he can once again smash the opponent into the wall.

http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/5682/photo7ke.jpg

In addition, he can attack with a sliding leg sweep, which is a characteristic move of a baseball player.

Weapon Fighting

http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5458/photo8oz.jpg

The policy of a baseball player is to handle one's gear with care. When Shinada has a weapon, its real power is shown. Shinada can use a weapon for a significantly longer time than the other characters and can attack with extraordinarily powerful strikes to bring out the maximum potential of these weapons. Among these weapons, there are some he can continue to use without ever breaking them.

On top of that, the real power of a weapon is shown by Shinada when he holds a cylindrical weapon in particular. One can clearly see that he is a slugger when he blows his enemies away with powerful swing attacks

Ultimate Technique - "My Way" Meteor Tackle

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/6531/photo9cs.jpg

Shinada strikes opponents with a powerful tackle attack using all his strength. After grappling with enemies, he can use various attacks such as smashing enemies into a wall, smashing them into the ground, and throwing them around with all his strength. He can unleash various techniques with the press of a single button, dependent on the timing.

Re: Yakuza series

Heat Actions

http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/8376/photo0s.jpg

Heat Actions, which have made battles more exciting throughout the series, have undergone a major evolution in this game. The force of these overwhelming techniques are still here, but the way they are handled is different; they no longer affect the flow of battle. There has been a drastic increase in variety of techniques - ranging from powerful attacks to comical attacks. Each character starts with techniques typifying their own battle styles, as well as gaining new heat actions from their local area.

Climax Heat
Bring out the big guns with an attack that turns the tables!

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4074/photo1uci.jpg
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/4163/photo2dt.jpg

Climax Heat is a newly added aspect of battle. It is an attack which boasts a huge amount of power and can pave the way to victory in a fight. Unlike regular heat actions, this is a technique which can completely turn the tide of a battle and is used when special conditions are met. The attack is extremely flashy and the power varies with button input.

http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/2816/photo3cc.jpg
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/1192/photo4vr.jpg

Revelations
Drastic power-up and with its own storyline!

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/6858/photo5px.jpg

Revelations, a popular feature of the series, are back in this game. All the protagonists, including Haruka, can learn a new technique by witnessing events around the city. Acquiring revelations has been dramatically improved with the inclusion of its own story, which one can enjoy in the same way that one would enjoy any other substory. In addition to this, the characters are now able to suddenly have revelations in battle to gain new techniques.

Re: Great Videogame Music

As mentioned elsewhere I picked up Dark Souls recently and I must have spent a good while in the character creation screen, not just to determine my starting stats and appearance but because of this song.

To me, I felt the same vibe as being in a typewriter room in the early RE games. It's soothing, beautiful and a little sinister. It also lends itself well to the game, just like in RE, where it provides a sense of security and comfort. A time to rest and meditate before stepping out into hell.

Re: What movie are you watching right now?

Premium Rush.

Which is basically JGL riding on a bike. It's a good flick. But i'm disappointed cause it started out great then kind of dwindled down towards the end to just merely 'good'. I blame it on the main antagonist, he played the part like a cartoon sometimes. Plus the non-linear narrative worked against it towards the end, where in the beginning it did wonders.

Re: Im Lance Armstrong and Ive won 0 Tour De France titles

France has been spiteful of the US ever since we liberated them from Nazi Germany. I can't say for a fact if he ever doped or not, though there is no proof, nor is it fair to strip someone of their accomplishments based on an accusation and a hunch. I suspect many of his colleagues have doped at one point or another, that would account for the whole "Give Lance up and we'll look the other way" plea deal they cut them. The whole affair reeks of people willing to send someone else up the river to spare themselves from taking personal accountability for their actions combined with Nationalism of France not being able to accept defeat at the hands of Americans. If he did dope, he does deserve to be held responsible for his actions. But the unending witch hunts and disproportionate amount of scrutiny placed on Armstrong suggests ulterior motives.

Re: Yakuza series

I like the fact that there is a much smoother transition between fighting and general gameplay now, at times that could really make travelling frustrating in previous titles, this game looks like it will really have a lot of content, if it doesn't make it to the west I'm going to be really pissed off at them

Re: Gaming thoughts of the day

The SNES had a TON of really good anime/manga RPGs. Ranma, Tenchi Muyo, Gundam, Yu-Yu-Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball-Z: attack of the Saiyains and Legendary Super Saiyin. They all had really interesting battle systems too.

Re: Yakuza series

Battle Staging

Seemless Battle

All battles, from fights with random guys on the street to boss fights, now utilise a seemless system. The game now goes straight into battle directly, with no break in the flow at all, from an event leading to battle or an incident on the streets. Even storyline boss battles flow directly from story to battle and you can enjoy the greatest abundance of scenarios ever seen in the series.

The fundamentals have been upgraded

http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/9345/photo0jj.jpg

The reaction towards an enemy's or protagonist's actions have evolved; there will be enemies who run away in reaction to one of your powerful techniques, and there will be enemies who rouse themselves. Also, enemies will do things like team up on you, or call for more companions. The variety in battle has been dramatically improved. There are enemies beyond imagination and a battle scale never before seen in the series

Dance Battle

http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/3169/photo0l.jpg

Haruka competes in dance battles as part of her training for Princess League. There are dancers waiting for an opponent to compete with in various places around Soutenbori, to whom you can issue a dance battle challenge by talking to them. Each dancer has their own genre speciality. The genres of music are hip-Hop, house, idol, jazz and rock.

"Dance Battle" System

http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/175/photo1ltk.jpg

This is a rhythm game in which you are required to time button presses with the corresponding buttons that stream along the four frames arranged on the screen (Above, Below, Left, Right). The frames can be moved freely by the player and you get a successful input when the selected frame and button timing match up, which directly brings out a flashy action from the character. There is a "Judging" component which reflects the audience appraisal of the dancer. Judging is determined by the content of the dance and a dancer who receives negative appraisal will feel great pressure and lose health. When all health is lost, you cannot continue the dance battle and are defeated.

Turn the tables with "Dance Heat"

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/6751/photo2efw.jpg

Heat actions can be used in Haruka's dance battles, featuring both showy and cute techniques. Like with the other characters, when the heat gauge reaches a certain amount, you can use a heat technique at any time you like. You can select which dance heat actions Haruka can use before a battle. They exhibit great effectiveness that can completely turn things around for you when in an unfavourable situation.

Improving "Power of Expression"

http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/2318/photo4qpc.jpg

When she wins a dance battle, one of Haruka's "Power of Expression" idol abilities can be improved. "Power of Expression" is essential for victory in the Princess League.

This was already present though in the fourth (third also maybe?). But it was just temporary, maybe they now run away from battle altogether. Anyway, it doesn't matter, this is the game that I look forward to most of all. It looks amazing and the new additions seem cool. Hell, just seeing those screenshots from Osaka almost makes me giddy :P

Re: Great Videogame Music

This one really sang out to me when I was playing the game yesterday. The traditional Japanese-inspired setting of the second world was great, with the music playing into that beautifully. And it just has that great level of melodiousness that was so common in old-school Japanese games.

Reminds me of Goemon 64's music. I can still remember the first Jumping Flash game, it was the first game I ever played on the original PlayStation. Classic. Never played the second one though.

I was just listening to the Eternal Poison OST, which is incredibly good. Pumping electronica with gothic undertones, to heavy metal, to sweeping orchestral, to jazz tunes; a really eclectic album overall. I really like the main town theme, as it fits the really weird, otherworldly vibe it gives off, perfectly:

Re: Square and Enix RPG's(anything outside Final Fantasy)

SNK does some pretty great sprite work. Especially with King of Fighters 13 just last year. I've never really seen any old 2d sprite games in "hd" though so...

Dishonored

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32/thebestbit/dishonored.jpg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XbQgdSlsd0

Overview

Dishonored is an immersive first-person action game that casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. Creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.

Story

Dishonored is set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling city where strange technology and otherworldly mysticism coexist in the shadows. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with neo-industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.

Improvise and Innovate: Approach each assassination with your own style of play. Use shadow and sound to your advantage to make your way silently through levels unseen by foes, or attack enemies head-on as they respond to your aggressiveness. The flexible combat system allows you to creatively combine your abilities, supernatural powers and gadgets as you make your way through the levels and dispatch your targets. Improvise and innovate to define your play style.

Action with Meaning: The world of Dishonored reacts to how you play. Move like a ghost and resist corruption, or show no mercy and leave a path of destruction in your wake. Decide your approach for each mission, and the outcomes will change as a result.

Supernatural Abilities: Teleport for stealth approaches, possess any living creature, or stop time itself to orchestrate unearthly executions! Combining your suite of supernatural abilities and weapons opens up even more ways to overcome obstacles and eliminate targets. The game’s upgrade system allows for the mastery of deadly new abilities and devious gadgets.

A City Unlike Any Other: Enter an original world envisioned by Half-Life 2 art director Viktor Antonov. Arkane and Bethesda bring you a world where industry and mysticism collide, creating an atmosphere thick with intrigue. The world is yours to discover.
