Re: A challenge for an internet whizz-kid

Do you have the instrumental for the song? It might be a little easier to track down and if you can get that its possible to make an a capella from the original song by inverting the phase of the instrumental in an audio program.

Here's a tutorial on how its done if you're interested:

Japan vs China: The Battle for the Desolate Islands

The dispute over the Senkaku Islands is making a lot of headlines lately. What's your opinion? Is the Chinese media using this as a false flag to create a diversion from topics of true importance to our communist friends? Do they have a legitimate claim to the territory?

The most irritating part of this whole situation to me is how its being used by a lot of people, who probably didn't know that the islands existed until recently, as an excuse to legitimize their existing hatred for the other party. Then you have people like Jackie Chan making ridiculous comments and just adding fuel to an already raging fire.

Re: BROTHAMITE BROTHAMITE! Ask the wise Brotha fools!

Brothaman, I have a possibly-sensitive question for you. Why is it that some black people both complain about racism a lot, whilst at the same time reinforcing negative racial-stereotypes with their actions?

Example: There was this chap at university who would always be complaining about racism around campus (I never witnessed any), and if he got a bad grade the tutor was "racist" (he always got bad grades, never showed up). He hated white people, and seemed convinced that we all owed him something because of slavery.

He hated me, since at the time I was living in a house full of lovely black girls, and was seeing one that he wanted. Anyway, one day I caught him in my house stealing chicken from my fridge. Not only was the chicken not his, but he didn't live in our house. I pointed out to him that he is always complaining of racism, yet by sneaking into my house and stealing our chicken (of all things!), he was in fact living up to and reinforcing a common racial stereotype; black people are thieves and love chicken. I ended up caving his little face in, I was so pissed off.

What is your view on this kind of hypocrisy among certain individuals within the black community? Was I wrong to be violent towards him? He was a self-styled 'gangsta rappa'. I must say, it felt really good to make him bleed all over his snapback cap and high tops. Good times!

If a black guy was literally stealing chicken from me it what be so funny that I would forget to be mad. That sounds like a parody they might do on Boondocks.

Or could it perhaps be that Dorian is more forgiving of less than stellar controls when they are a gateway into a universe with which he is very familiar or fond of?

I thought the Lupin the Third game for PS2 was awesome even though EGM only gave it a 6 from what I remember. But that's mostly because I love Lupin the Third.

Its a licensed anime game. The vast majority of them require you to be at least partially blinded by fandom to fully enjoy.

All this Panzer Dragoon talk has me thinking about one of my dreams for if I ever acquire an obscene wealth. I want to purchase and gather as many copies of a rare game that I don't give two shits about, like Panzer Dragoon, from all the people that will part with it and then destroy them one by one on camera. The look of rage on the internet's face will make the whole endeavor so worth it.

Re: who would you cast for a live action shenmue?

I would love it if they did a corny TV drama version of Shenmue. They could put some idol boy from Johnny's in the lead as Ryo:

Ishihara Satomi as Nozomi:
http://i.imgur.com/xrVBf.jpg

Segata Sanshiro reprising his role as Iwao:

Tom will be changed from Jamaican to African and played by Bobby Ologon:

The Bad Boys as Goro and his new sidekick:
http://i.imgur.com/mEsgj.jpg

Gushiken Youkou as Yamagishi-san:

Fukuhara will no longer be a martial arts student, but a 40 year old hikikomori otaku boarder living at the Hazuki Dojo which hasn't been used as an actual training space in years due to the declining interest in the study of martial arts. He is played by Gekidan Hitori:

It will be the funniest thing on TV in years, but Shenmue only in name. And that's how television works kids.

On a slightly serious note Nagase Tomoya would actually be an awesome Ren.

and this is where I stop taking you seriously about this matter :P
I did you as soon as you mentioned GOW. It's a shallow combat system. Very simple and the only complexity is the QTE. GOW is basically analog and an action button. TLS is a layered RPG with layered combat. Real time strategy, stealth action and TPS elements. If you have trouble with that little spider then damn son you are in for a beating later on. :P
You could even say that AG might be a pussy gamer.

Re: Unpopular Opinions

Who said thus Thread would be fun? Somehow these ridiculous posts make me angry :D

That's kinda the point. Hopefully stuff like this can be a small reminder how selfish we can be. To the point of getting angry because someone doesn't believe what I do instead of simply asking why and potentially learning about another point of view.

But its mostly just to troll people incapable of such detachment.

Also I never realized how much of San Francisco hippie mue_26 was by reading his posts before. Go ahead and attack the government, the media, the medical instrustry and corporations all you want. I've got no problem with that, but porno? Evil? Have you not seen Maria Ozawa?

lol. I was pondering something similar recently. How horrible the world would be, for me at least, if slavery had never happened. Almost all the music I live-by would never have existed. Everything from jazz and hip hop to all the great rock bands and soul singers. Then my thoughts immediately turned to how racist it would come off when I tried to explain it later.

Re: Unpopular Opinions

'Man Made' Global warming is bullshit. I'm a former president of the science club and I say this. There is no serious science behind the greenhouse effect, unless you think CO2 can block light rays, if that's the case, car exhaust would have a shadow. The reason why the icebergs are melting, and how there are less snow caps are because it's still a thawing process from the last ice age. I don't know why this is so hard to comprehend. I think the higher powers of the European and communist countries are promoting control of CO2 to take down the US economy. Notice how militant environmentalists are about it? It's because they have been conditioned to act that way, and that's by design.

I'm glad to see we have the President of the science club on the job.

Re: Gaming thoughts of the day

To be fair, here's a list of RPG cliches you can use to counterbalance statements made on the previous page.

1. Sleepyhead Rule
The teenaged male lead will begin the first day of the game by oversleeping, being woken up by his mother, and being reminded that he's slept in so late he missed meeting his girlfriend.
2. "No! My beloved peasant village!"
The hero's home town, city, slum, or planet will usually be annihilated in a spectacular fashion before the end of the game, and often before the end of the opening scene.
3. Thinking With The Wrong Head (Hiro Rule)
No matter what she's accused of doing or how mysterious her origins are, the hero will always be ready to fight to the death for any girl he met three seconds ago.
4. Cubic Zirconium Corollary
The aforementioned mysterious girl will be wearing a pendant that will ultimately prove to be the key to either saving the world or destroying it.
5. Logan's Run Rule
RPG characters are young. Very young. The average age seems to be 15, unless the character is a decorated and battle-hardened soldier, in which case he might even be as old as 18. Such teenagers often have skills with multiple weapons and magic, years of experience, and never ever worry about their parents telling them to come home from adventuring before bedtime. By contrast, characters more than twenty-two years old will cheerfully refer to themselves as washed-up old fogies and be eager to make room for the younger generation.
6. Single Parent Rule
RPG characters with two living parents are almost unheard of. As a general rule, male characters will only have a mother, and female characters will only have a father. The missing parent either vanished mysteriously and traumatically several years ago or is never referred to at all. Frequently the main character's surviving parent will also meet an awkward end just after the story begins, thus freeing him of inconvenient filial obligations.
7. Some Call Me... Tim?
Good guys will only have first names, and bad guys will only have last names. Any bad guy who only has a first name will become a good guy at some point in the game. Good guys' last names may be mentioned in the manual but they will never be referred to in the story.
8. Nominal Rule
Any character who actually has a name is important in some way and must be sought out. However, if you are referred to as a part of a posessive noun ("Crono's Mom") then you are superfluous.
9. The Compulsories
There's always a fire dungeon, an ice dungeon, a sewer maze, a misty forest, a derelict ghost ship, a mine, a glowing crystal maze, an ancient temple full of traps, a magic floating castle, and a technological dungeon.
10. Luddite Rule (or, George Lucas Rule)
Speaking of which, technology is inherently evil and is the exclusive province of the Bad Guys. They're the ones with the robots, factories, cyberpunk megalopolises and floating battle stations, while the Good Guys live in small villages in peaceful harmony with nature. (Although somehow your guns and/or heavily armed airships are exempted from this.)

Click link below to read the rest of the super long list:
http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html

I like both RPGs and this list so I hope you'll enjoy it as well.

Marijuana decriminalised in Washington state

Possession of marijuana has become legal in the US state of Washington, a month after voters opted for decriminalisation.

From midnight (08:00 GMT) anyone aged 21 and over was allowed to carry up to 1oz (28.4g) of cannabis, but smoking it in public will remain illegal.

What states will follow? or will this be quickly taken back amid concerns from old people and dopey religious drones? More importantly, is Spokane safe from all of these unrelenting refer smoking ruffians?
