Re: A game about waiting for Shenmue III

Fantastic idea.

The game will be a FREE (that's Full Reactive Eyes Entertainment for you short-term-memory-only guys) game set in a bedroom. Pixel Art visuals. You walk back and forth, gazing at your pc sometimes to check for Shenmue III news on the internet. Besides that, you interact with half a dozen items spread throughout the room to kill time while you're waiting, namely you pick your Ps4 controller to play a mini-game of shorts (maybe a shmup?) and you pick one of the several porno mags laying on the floor to jerk off adding around half a hour to your score. If you turn off the pc, open the door of your bedroom and head outside it's game over, you lost all hope for Shenmue III.

Re: AM2's *other* gigantic fighting game is 20 years old!

They actually have, Mr. OL. It's called Fighting Vipers, it's rad as fuck and the concept has a ton of modern potential that will likely never be explored.

Virtua Fighter though is like mana from the gods of brawl and war.
Happy 20th.

That avatar is very, err, interesting, Mr Lishao.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts (Read OP Before Posting)

Indeed, the arena FPS needs to return, pronto, and with a bang.

I miss playing the likes of Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament.

I cannot fathom how, in the age of online competitive multiplayer, arena shooters aren't at least almost as huge as the likes of COD or BF.

Re: where i can download shenmue2?????

^Actually, are you sure those work (not the links, the files)? The last ISOS I tried did not work. If they do, I'm sure many will join me in thanking you, bat boy.

Re: Recent Gaming Purchases

^Ah, Messiah, the memories. I remember the hype around it and how frustrated I got after it revealed itself to run at like 5 frames per second n my pc, back in the day.

I honestly don't understand how Messiah (and the likes of, say, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines and Omikron) aren't brought back more often in gaming discussions throughout the internet (and regardless of their shortcomings).

Why did not a single soul believed Ryo Hazuki had turned blind?

Because he kept saying 'I see...'.

Re: What are you currently playing?

^

:D

Finished it yesterday, also after a few years of not being able to play it.

The best game of all time. Sorry haters.
Since the release of the original Shenmue, no videogame dared to be what Shenmue II dared and achieve to be to a good degree.

Besides being an amazing journey through and through, and one that still delivers visual detail unmatched in it's realism, I will state that the cinematography of Shenmue II is also still unbeaten.
The Big Ox Building rooftop sequence and the whole of Guilin... Shivers down my spine, you guys, shivers down my spine, every single time. And that ending...

Destiny awaits!

Re: Recent Gaming Purchases

more in the way of epic boss battles.

Thanks Raithos, thanks OL.

The boss part is all I need to know for now.
Boss battles make a good part of a videogame to me.

You did well to purchase Bulletstorm, OL. It's a lot of fun. Sure, this is coming from the guy that liked Duke Nukem Forever (a lot at that), but Bulletstorm is my favourite FPS of the Ps3/360 generation. It lacks more boss battles (see?!) but besides that it's a riot from start to finish. It feels like a modern take on 32 bit era FPSs (sure, it doesn't feature the excellence in level design of those, but the overall flavour is similar) and has more than a handful of cool set pieces to play through. Play it in one or two sittings, I know you will have a good time.

Re: PS4 versus the One, two months in...

My biggest problem with the X1 (not owning one nor a Ps4 for that matter) is that I am not convinced MS will Not go back in their 180s regarding the original plan they had for the console.

Everytime I saw them talking about the backlash of the gaming community and the changes they were forced to make I never saw them confessing the error of their ways or just saying 'that was then, this is now, we opened a blank page'. Instead I always see them say things akin to 'it was too soon, people did not understood what it meant, we didn't communicate these features well enough'.
That makes me think they will get back to at least some of those horrible features given enough time and a strong install base of the X1.

Re: Your Top 10 Favorite Games

I feel very bad with myself for the second time in this topic, for not having given a shout out to Folklore, Silent Hill 1, 2 and 4, Sword of the Berserk Gut's Rage, Knight's Contract, Zone of the Enders...

What's wrong with me?

Re: Random Thoughts

I haven't forgotten you much less abandoned the place.
I am still a nomad, still trying to find out who I am and still trying to reclaim my life.
That is all there is to it.
I am always peeking behind the looking glass, as much as my limited net access allows me.
Cheers, everyone.
