Please people, have faith. Realise that a screenshot from the development environment will look completely different from the compiled game, remember that we don't know where or when this character will be introduced, remember that the game is still in early development, but most importantly remember that Shenmue III is REAL!

Shenmue III is going to look different. It's going to look very different because it's not being programmed in 2001 and it's not running on a Dreamcast. But I don't care. It's common sense that there's going to be stylistic differences and I'd much, much rather have that than no Shenmue III. But now is NOT the time to judge these differences because the game is in such an early stage of development. When you get your hands on a copy of Shenmue III and boot it up for the first time, that will be the time to judge.

But until then lets remember what's truly important. Let's remember E3 2015 when we all lost our fucking shit when Yu Suzuki walked out on stage and announced the game. Let's remember that one day, the third installment of Shenmue will be posted through our letter boxes, and after over a decade, we'll actually get to play it.

The amount of toxic posts I've read tonight is disgraceful and I honestly wonder why some people are pumped for the game when they can't accept that there's going to be change. If you can't accept that, I have news for you; you're probably going to hate Shenmue III, and that would be a real shame.

I don't like ranting like this, but seriously, come on. What happened to that sense of community that these forums once had. I would have thought that the announcement of III would bring everyone together further, but it seems to have divided us beyond belief and I don't like it.

Don't have much to add to what's already been said. Very glad that they've decided to delay the game instead of making it a rush job. Also gives up more time for the HD editions to come out.

In the sense that you'll have to wait longer to play the game, or in the sense that you're worried about development?

Don't get me wrong, it's disappointing that we have to wait longer to play; there's nothing I want more than to get my hands on Shenmue III as soon as possible. However it will result it a better and more complete Shenmue III, so I think it's definitely a good thing that they're taking their time instead of rushing. 2 years was never going to be enough time to create a game as ambitious as Shenmue from scratch.

I'd like to ask Eric if the process of voicing a weak/wimpy character like Fuku-san feels much different to voicing a stong/brave character like Guizhang or Ren. Does he feel the character differences himself when he voices them?

What's the difference between the 'new' logo and the original?
I think it's just the yellow colour scheme. Makes sense. Shenmue II had a red themed logo compared to the plain white Shenmue I logo.

Don't know if it's just me, but seeing Shenmue III with a well known publisher like Deep Silver makes it feel all the more real. Can't wait!

I'm all for a bit of speculation, but there are far too many people who aren't in the know drawing ill-conceived conclusions.

We don't know what's going on over at YS.NET and we're in no position to settle on the idea that these characters are final or that Shenmue III's art style has been confirmed or anything else for that matter.

When you make these assumptions and try to state them as fact, belittling anyone who reminds you that the game isn't finished, you don't come off as superior. You come off as petty.

Until we see public advertising material of the game (not press releases or backer updates), I think we should stop jumping to conclusions. It's quite clearly still in development and no matter how many times you try and say it's final, there just isn't any evidence to back that up.

I am entitled to my own opinion, which you don't have to agree with. If you see this as the greatest game ever made, then that's fine, this is what I see in this bad joke they just released, although I kinda had a feeling (and some info) that this will eventually happen, I got extremely disappointed with what they've done to our beloved series ...
Ohh Mr Technophilz with his mysterious info. You're full of shit, you have nothing of importance to say and you're quite clearly going to detest the game, so I ask you why you even bother to come back here every time an update drops? Shenmue III isn't going to be built to your perfect vision and you can't seem to handle that. Instead you trash every single piece of info that comes out. Write it off and move on if you can't accept it.

Opinions are all well and good, but never have I seen anyone take something so for granted. You absolutely baffle me.

Environments look incredible! Facial animations could use some work but hey, it's in development so I'm not bothered. Very very cool to finally see the game in motion!

I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to say? You don't think Unreal Engine is suitable because it's new and Shenmue I and II are old? Yu Suzuki isn't making Shenmue I and II, he's making Shenmue III.

It doesn't matter if he's more experienced with the older technology. The things he will be able to do with moderate knowledge of UE4 far far outweigh the things he could do with expert knowledge of the Dreamcast era tech. It's a complete non issue in my opinion.

They may be derived from the same model, but they're not actually the same.
The Ryo in 1 and 4 are almost identical renders...

Also, I don't like the Passport model. Ryo looks very weird in that one so I'm not gonna include that. Definitely no to the Saturn and still early Shenmue III models.
I don't see why this needs to be a poll if you're going to omit the options that you don't personally like. Surely it would be better just to ask people to post their favourite model and forgo the poll if you're not going to include all of the choices.
