I just cant imagine myself playing a sonic game running around as a rabbit. I mean Sonic the hedgehog is cool with his spikey blue spikes, i mean i'd love to have hair like sonics!

Looks like a mix between Feelix the cat and bugs bunny.

Arh man, no way!

It's good to see how he might have looked, but i'm glad they stuck with the hedgehog thing...

Although, I bet if he had been a rabbit from the start, we'd think that the hedgehog design would look weird...

Yeah I seem to remember something about this and how you used your bunny ears to pick up enemies and throw them at others. But I think it was "too complicated" so they went with simply jumping on them. As a matter of fact I seem to remember hearing about being able to play as a big fat man with mustach...

It would make sense to have a rabbit instead of an hedgehog because hedgehogs are slow as hell...

This was common knowledge as far back as 1992. There were several interviews with the developers of the Sonic series in mags like EGM and Sega Visions that shed the light on Sonic's development history.

Strange. I've read a lot about Sega's history, and how the character Sonic came about, but never originally being a rabbit.
