Best/worst looking systems/fave/least fave controllers

Thats the MegadriveII.
When the Megadrive was released in europe it looked the same as the american version. (exept it sayd megadrive instead of genesis)

That, and the american version was blue instead of black - very poor choice by SoA.

My friends was black..... every Genisis I ever saw was black....was the blue version of the genesis II a special edition?


Anyway I had almost for gotten about the 3rd version which I think is kinda nice looking.

EDIT: hm. Odd, I had this picture of a blue and red genesis on my head. They look just like the euro version, except the buttons on ours are red - that looks better. ;)

By the way, anyone want to see the insides of a Genesis/MegaDrive (MK1) console?

Strange.....they were always black here....every Sega console except the dreamcast (excluding special editions) here in the US was Jet black..no red or any other color on it.

The U.S. always has to be different... There's always something SoA has to mess with. Be it soundtracks, covers, etc.

Genesis/Mega Drive 3!? What the hell, I've never heard of that before. Seriously, what is the point in releasing the same console three times? For the record, I had a Mega Drive 2.

My favourite looking is the purple Gamecube, and worst looking is probably 32X. A big black mushroom sprouting out of my Mega Drive? No thanks.

MG3/GEN3 was made by mattel, they got the rights when sega sold it to em and they tried to make a little profit i guess

Nintendo did the same by Releasing a Redesigned SNES Console in 1997-1998.
Both were at the end of thier lifecycle and they were looking for extra profit.

Nintendo did it with the NES SNES and Soon Gamecube.
Sony Did it with the PS One and plans to do it with the PS2 soon.
Microsoft might do the same with the Xbox (talks are without a HDD)

But every time they are made smaller like that they give up a feature or 2.
