Ubisoft is still planning a sequel to its much-loved 2003 adventure Beyond Good & Evil, the company's boss has confirmed.
The news comes just a day after the game's creator Michel Ancel was rumoured to be quitting the company - something Ubisoft France denied to Eurogamer.
"It's coming," Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot said of Beyond Good & Evil 2, speaking to Kotaku at last week's PlayStation 4 event.
"I don't give comments any more on BG&E2," he continued, "because I think... the next time we communicate we have to have something new."
Fans of the original have been waiting for something new for some time. The game was last in "active development" in 2011, before it was put on hold again so Ancel could complete Rayman Legends.
In-engine footage and screenshots from an early build of the game have found their way online. More recently Ubisoft has said the game will require a new generation of console hardware to run.
A new CV-listing for an ex-Ubisoft level designer, spotted on LinkedIn, suggested that Beyond Good & Evil 2 may have been in development for Wii U (thanks, GoNintendo).
But the listing grouped the game alongside Killer Freaks (the Wii U prototype that grew into ZombiU), so it's unclear if the listed platforms (Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360) refer to both.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 has now been in development for the best part of a decade. The series was originally planned as a trilogy, although poor sales for the first part put the latter two on hold.

Yeah I know Sherlock. I even have the history of Sonic book. Just in Cannon his origins of turning blue is explained in the comics as he ran too fast on a treadmill and turned blue. That's his origin.
