Been messing around a bit with all four of the Way of the Samurai games; I really want to tackle one of them seriously right now, but I haven't settled on which one. There's just so much content and so many branching paths in every one. Might just start from the beginning or something, even though I'd beaten it years ago already. A refresher course couldn't hurt.

But even more than that, I'm still plugging away at Payday 2. Good god, this game is addictive. Logged 56 hours so far, with no sign of letting up. It's the only game I've played to date where dropping into an online session with people I don't know is actually still a good time. It's preferable to be playing with friends, of course, but at least I'm not at a loss if they aren't available.
And stealth missions are a weird little masochistic joy. The stealth is hard, but still fair. Been aiming for a few different achievements with my older brother lately. One involved getting a vault open and stealing a suit of samurai armor, which requires that you totally ghost your way through a mercenary compound. Hard as shit, but we pulled it off. Got a cool mask out of it, which I promptly customized with a red celtic pattern and green material. That's half the fun of the game, actually; earning new masks, materials, patterns, and colors, and seeing what you can do to make them into something unique. I'm really liking this one at the moment.

Aiming to take on a casino with a purely stealth run right now. Even harder than the samurai armor so far, but we're slowly figuring it out.

God of War Ascension is coming to PSN through PlayStation Plus next month. Haven't played any of those games since Chains of Olympus on PSP so I'm looking forward to it..

Ascension... *cringes* that game plays like they just gave up and ran out of development effort. I couldnt even finish it, I was over half way through then realized how bad and thrown together it all really was. But forget that game, and just focus on GoW 4 when ever it comes out.

Nearing the end of Shenmue already. I'm spending literally all my money on capsule toys and caramels at the stores to draw tickets. Just won hang-on. This is the first time I've won both games.

Admittedly, I'm currently playing Skies of Arcadia for the first time. It's absolutely fantastic though. I'm about 36 hours in and still on disc 1.

Yep, Skies of Arcadia will do that. Very unique very good JRPG, better on Game Cube though, I must say. I have played and beaten both versions mutilple times O_O

Love that game. I still haven't beaten it, but I believe I played around 30 hours of it a ways back. The whole "sky pirates" motif is so incredibly up my alley, it ain't even funny. And the sequence where you get stranded on a deserted island is just classic for me.
I will say the random battles are a drag though. I usually have no problem with random battles, but good god, they were probably more frequent in Skies than in anything else I've played. That's how I remember it at least. I also seem to remember the battle intros feeling like they were way too long, so even when you get into fights with the weakest of enemies, it's still irritating because of how long it all takes to get through, over and over.
Either way, need to finish that one day.

That's because they were. It was a common complaint back in the day and they toned down the random battles for the Gamecube port.

Skies of Arcadia was one of the few games i owned for the Dreamcast when I was a kid (that along with Sonic Adventure and House of the Dead 2) -- and i still never beat it despite really loving it. I got about half way through and misplaced my Red Dreamcast Memory Card. It just fell into the abyss that was my house. My mom always assured me it would show up somewhere, well fifteen years later and still don't have it. To this day, I could call up my mom and mention it to her and she'd say "Oh, it's around here somewhere. Don't worry we'll find it." :lol:

EDIT: I remember always being able to tell when a random battle was about to occur because the Dreamcast would make a really loud disc-read noise beforehand.
