Sega taken to court over Ulala from space channel 5 .. lol

Lady Miss Kier, formerly the singer in the retro-infused dance group Deee-Lite, is in the process of suing Sega for alledgedly copying her image when they created Space Channel 5 space reporter Ulala, report Rolling Stone.

According to her legal suit, filed in her real name of Kierin Kirby, the similarities between Sega's Ulala and Lady Miss Kier include "the same or nearly the same distinctive make-up, large eyelashes, doe eyes, red/pink hair, pony tails, cute backpacks, mini-skirts, knee-socks, knee-high boots, and platform shoes".

Kirby also claims that Sega offered her $15,000 back in 2000 in exchange for an official licence that would allow the videogame giant to use her likeness, but she declined.

This is what I don't get... if it was copying her then why would it take her 2 years and a half to even TRY to sue? This doesn't ad up...

Anyhow.. to go with the game sucks thing up there - her music sucks too.. so either way.. I don't care.

I think u can copywrite the way u look if u have a uniqe style (plus i assume it dos'nt hurt to be famous too ;) ) , I may be wrong , any law student around lmao

i dont think you can copyright people's signifigant styles....if you could then there would be numerous suits against people who call themselves Matticus but aren't Matticus because I am Matticus....yeah
