I can see this thread being turned into a bar room brawl, with Jed and Orange throwing punches at each other.

But yeah, fuck Square. Every FF after IX I've hated. FFVI fo' life, bitches.

Oh, and I also hate remakes, spin-offs, fanboys and lame fighting games too (Bushido Blade, I'm looking at you). But most of all, "Chocobo Racing", so, once again, Square, cheers. Cheers for Chocobo Racing, and thank you very much for "Chocobo Dungeon" (I'll never let that one die, I'll assure you). If Square continues its current track record I'll have to kill their pet cat and burn down their local McDonalds.

Note: I haven't even played Chocobo Racing, it's just that I don't like the sound of it.

Bushido Blade was fucking ace, and I keep waiting for a proper successor to it's legacy (Bushido Blade 2 sucked, and though I kind of like the Kengo series, it features life bars, which negates one of the points that made Bushido Blade so great).

How can he be a whiney douche if he barely talks? He might be a douche, sure, but a whiney one? Nah.
And he looks less like a woman than most FF protagonists.

Squall is one of gamings finest characters. You love to hate the guy.

Anyway, FF8 is fucking amazing. One of the most complex, yet creative games out there.

From the FF's i've completed, I rate in order:

FF7>FF8>FF6>FF9>FF10>FF5

Not completed 1, 4, Tactics or 12 yet.

Nothing tops FF7. Nothing.

For some reason, final fantasy xii is the only FF game I've ever played that I just....could.....not......get into. I tried, but something about it just kept putting me off. I got quite a few hours in waiting for something to hook me, but eventually I just drifted off and now my PS2 is goosed, I doubt I'll go back to it.

For me, 8 will always be the best.

I started playing FF games since FFVI on the SNES and i have to say that FFVII and FFVIII are still to this day my favourite FF/RPG's

I could go on forever about what i liked about both but i don't want to bore you guys to death so i'll make it short and sweet.

IMO FFVII and FFVIII were technical achievements for there time in terms of story/characters/longevity/graphics and sheer scale.

On topic... FFXII was a decent game i liked the change in fighting system it was a well needed change from random battles although the gambits made the game way too easy it's no classic but i still thought the game was good and there was many things in the game that i enjoyed.

PS. Square-Enix need to bring back Triple-Triad it was legend.

It is awesome, and that's coming from someone who hates FF. It's the first FF since FFVII to really bring anything new. Real-time battles ftw.
