Thinking of getting a PSP Slim

That one specifically. A few questions:

Is that a good deal?
They still selling these in stores?
Is custom firmware possible on a slim?
What are some good games to get with this?

I'm already planning on getting Parappa the Rapper, Guitaroo Man, Crisis Core, and MAYBE God of War. I already have Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, and from this auction (if I get it) i'm getting Daxter and Death Jr.

Yes to all I believe, however DO NOT BUY OFF EBAY.
If by some chance it breaks, you're SOL Sony won't fix it.
You need a retail reciept from a store. (AG can attest to this with his broken PS3)

Yes I can, those assholes at sony STILL wont do shit even if the 1 year warranty is still in place, without a receipt (you can buy off ebay just make sure they have a receipt sony has to be able to trace the transaction from the original retailer AKA where it was purchased before ebay). But if you are thinking about getting a hand held the PSP is excellent. Crisis Core is basically a system seller, that game is really good and worthing buying it for that alone. God of War Chains of Olympus is really impressive too, but its short. There are alot of cool odd end RPGs on the system if you are a heavy RPG player.

That's weird. I bought a PS2 off eBay a couple of years ago and it was broken, so I called Sony and they were able to repair it for free cause the warranty was still in place. They didn't give me no bullshit about a receipt.

And I didn't know about the new design. But I don't wanna wait for those hackers to crack the thing, I want to be able to do it the second I have it in my hands.

Worth buying it for games you missed but can't say much for the future titles at the moment.

A PSP is worth getting period cause its a portable emulator machine among other things.

And I asked the guy if he has the receipt on eBay and told him to pack it in if he does. He told me he needs to find it, and if he can't i'm thinking of going to Best Buy anyway and buy it there if they still make those bundles.

It's the best handheld console ever made. (simply for the fact it plays all PS1 games at 100%)

I'd get one, it's a great piece of kit.

Kenny, i'm not sure how slims work for custom firmware. Use this forum, it will provide you with EVERYTHING you need to know:

I would register right now and post any query you have in the Help section, it's saved my life multiple times.

I've got a white phat, I mainly use it for watching Lost or some trash tv before bed, and playing the old gems from PS1.

You may want to wait a few months when the 3000 model is released, and see if that's hackable. It's got a built in mic, and a much nicer screen apparently.

I saw the features and it does seem nice, but I don't want to wait an additional few months just so the thing can be hackable. Apparently a few of the mods won't even work for the slim model, imagine how restricted the newer one will be.

Plus the Pandora Battery i'm buying only supports the first two models (unless by chance it can fit and work for the new one).

I think the new model is the same size as the Slim so it should fit.

But the board it's diferent so it could not be hackable for some time, and the last board TA-88v3 from psp slim it's not hackable right now.

If you watch that many shows you should look into PlayTV, that works well with PSP.
