I just beat the game, and have made two posts; a very basic review, and a design I like from it. Wasn't even intending on posting anything else from it at all. I'd hardly call this "obsessed". It's just fresh in my mind.

Now, if I'm still here in a month or two posting more designs, music, etc from the game, mentioning it all the time even when it has nothing to do with anything, saying "best TPS this gen" at every possible chance, and changing my avatar and sig to reflect it... sure, I'll take the "obsessed" label.
But it isn't the case, and wasn't going to be the case... so no, not obsessed at all. This isn't you and Xenoblade.

Don't deny it. Nothing to be ashamed of. Every time you get into a series you post the music, boxart, character designs on go on buying spree's. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Also once you play XB then you'll know why and have a hard time looking at FF anymore

I'm never ashamed of what I'm interested in at any given stretch of time. But with me, it's usually only for a certain amount of time before my mood changes and I'm into something else. I go through phases of feeling like one thing, then turning around and being into something else entirely. And I'd say my tastes are far too varied for any of it to qualify as "obsession". One can't be obsessed with everything, can they?
I guess it just comes down to how you want to define "obsession", but for me it doesn't qualify.

I get obsessed with games I love. I'm constantly telling myself not to buy the Front Mission World Historica book on eBay. I've also played way too many Goemon games... and I've read all the Myst books and am patiently awaiting the 4th, The Book of Marrim.

I love what I love :P

You're a collector. That's obsessed. You love gaming that much. Which is why I applaud it. :P

Obsessed with videogames and gaming. I'd agree with that.
It's just when it gets specified down to one game or another that I dispute it.

Oh, and oddly my "flavor of the moment" or "obsession" or whatever you want to call it isn't even really Binary Domain. Right now, it'd probably be Armored Core still. Haven't gotten it out of my system yet, since I'm still waiting on the first game in the mail... and AC5 on the 20th of March...
My desire to play the series is just boiling up right now.

I love Front Mission, Assault Suits Valken, and most things Mech but I can't seem to get into the Armored Core series. I think I'm going to give Armored Core 5 a rent and try one more time, but I'm not sure.

I wasn't into it at first either, but it eventually grew on me. An acquired taste.
It's not normally focused much on story or characters, and you usually start out with a really weak, slow AC for the early missions, so it's easy to get turned off in the early goings. I understand that completely. But I think it's one of those series where the more you put in to it, the more you get out of it. It requires a bit of time before the actual missions become a blast to play, but they do eventually get there. You just have to work kind of hard on your AC to get there.

I think my main problem was I played it on the Playstation 1 and the controls were awful. It looked like something I could enjoy but controlling the game was so frustrating that I just had to stop playing. One of the other reasons I want to give the newest installment a fair shot.
