I'm not a huge fan of RPGs except for few titles like Phantasy Star, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Ys. Ys I&II for the PCE/TG-16 had amazing soundtrack and voice acting. Part III was a bit of a let down and IV was a great comeback.

Official XSeed site for The Oath in Felghana just opened up.
Got some good info on it, some voice samples, trailers... you know. Stuff.
http://www.worldofys.com/ysf/
Can't say I'm a big fan of some of the voices though. Particularly Chester's, which sounds a little too effeminate and devious. Why does that always seem to happen in english dubs with characters that look like this, when in the original Japanese tracks they're usually kind of deep-voiced and manly-sounding? I don't think Felghana actually had a Japanese track to begin with, granted, but my point still stands.
Eh, just an irk.
It'll be an excellent game regardless.

I kinda figured he'd be voice acted by an Xseed regular like Yuri Lowenthall or something. Not happy with the pitch but whatever.

I think the PSP one did but not the PC version. but again not sure

I wonder if we'll get a Ys release to go with Zero no Kiseki (Legend of Heroes 7) which they fuckin hit out the park in terms of quality.

I'd go with Felghana if I were you, since it's earlier in the series timeline (though it was made after Napishtim).
Felghana is a remake of the third game in the series, while Napishtim is actually the sixth.
It's hard for me to say which one I actually like more. Both are great (though the PSP version of Napishtim does have some really, really long load times, and lacks some of the cooler features of the PS2 version).

I am in possession of Legacy: Books 1 and 2 for the DS.
The Ys afficionados reccomend those?
I haven't started to play them yet, my RPG quota is beig filled by Lunar: Dragon Song also on the Nintendo's handheld.

Yeah since those are the first games books I&II it's best to start there.
DS version has bad 3d visuals but eh characters look good in the spirtes and has great animated cutscenes.
Music is great and the games are a blast. Imagine Zelda only more fun.(at least I think so)

While I am waiting for ysIII in the mail and my Anime DVDs been watching the show on youtube.

Well you guys were right,Ys III is a bit tougher to get into and is also a bit challenging at first.
I am still liking it so far very much.
Minor things get on my nerves like the bad collision detection sometimes and some times get hit by enemies that are not even touching me.

Yeah, it's like that...
You have to develop tricks at first, entering the mine, finding a good spot, and buzzsawing through some enemies til you level up. Exit mine, save, do it again. After you gain a couple levels (and maybe buy new equipment) it's a bit easier going. But yeah, the collision detection is almost nonexistent, and you gain no invincibility after getting hit, like in other games.
Hard to get in to, but you'll probably actually like it a lot if you stick in there. Though you are playing the SNES version, which ain't the greatest, so I can't say for sure...

Its like Zelda 2 in a lot of ways, just not as broken or bullshit, still alot of the same tricks apply.

Ugh I can't stand the NES Zelda games esp Zelda 2.
Yeah I played some more this morning and still leveling up but I am a blind fool who just loves ys III anyway despite some flaws.
I am a little surprised there was no ys on PSone. That console had everything.
