Meh still have it on Gamecube. No thanks. As much as I am a nostalgia whore. The game isn't that good after playing Colors & Gens

Would you say SA1 or SA2 is better? I only played 2 and beat it twice I think.

I'm more of a fan of SA1 but that's more nostalgia based. Niether one is really that good when compared to Colors & Gen. However SA1 on XBL is actually the Gamecube version. They changed alot in it. Colors on buildings textures and even changed some buildings in Station square.

I didn't like 2 as much as 1. Sega caved to the people that complained they had a cool open world to explore that looked fantastic instead of having it one level right after the other. Don't like "Jewel Detecting" on Knuckles? TOO BAD it's all lumped in together now. I also thought they oversold the whole "saving the world of conquer it" bit. I did like the graphics of the game, and there were fun bits. But I think I enjoyed SA1's ability to let me play the character I want. I hated big the cat, but at least I didn't need to play as him if I didn't want to. :P To the games credit it does have a finale nearly as good as the showdown with perfect chaos. Sonic Gens kind of fell flat in that regard.

No pussy footing. As good as Sonic Gens is. The boss battle kinda sucked. The final battle is shit by bad design. That's why I put colors above Gens. Great boss battles. The last one has some challenge and even goes metroid on ya. Escape before everything blows up

Apparently there's a big 'Summer of Sonic' event coming up soon. Might get announced there?

Cool. SA2 was the game that made me look at the Dreamcast back in the day and say "I want one".
I think I've talked about it before... the City Escape level is one of my favorites in the entire history of Sonic. Used to watch videos of it over and over, thinking how amazing it looked. Should be nice in HD.
Hope they collect this and JSR on a retail 360 or PS3 release.
And while we're at it: Jet Set Radio Future in HD please.

Was a fun game ruined by the Knuckles/bat chick levels IMO.

Prefer 1 but the port to XBLA was so bad.
Plenty of other games i would rather see ported first.

The Blue Blur has had his ups and downs, but on the whole, he's a remarkable icon with a rich history extending across two decades. Earlier this year, Sega and French videogame book publisher Pix'n Love -- responsible for several high-quality Nintendo history books -- teamed up to collect Sonic's journey into one massive tome. This September, UDON will be bringing the book to American shores.

The History of Sonic the Hedgehog is a 300-page hardcover beast that tracks Sonic's inception through the recent Sonic Generations. It covers every single game he's ever appeared in, including crossovers and cameos. There's also plenty of official artwork to gawk in addition to interesting nuggets of information, like how the ribbon logo from the original Sonic's title screen was conceived.

The History of Sonic the Hedgehog will retail for $49.99, but as is usual with UDON releases, you're smarter bet is to hop onto Amazon, where the book is currently a much more reasonable $31.81.

I just pre ordered it on Amazon

I just feel like saying it:
I love Sonic the Hedgehog.
Not necessarily in the way that I buy every game in the series as it comes out or anything like that. Still don't have Gens or Colors.
I just have such a love for the old games, which nothing can ever shake loose. Some of my fondest gaming memories were spent with Sonic, as I sat in front of my little tv screen as a kid, rushing through Marble Zone or Mystic Cave Zone or Mushroom Hill Zone. Those old games were just such a blast to play, and they remain that way for me today.
An early morning (say, 6 to 8 o'clock) spent in front of the tv playing an old 16-bit Sonic... there's very little else in the world that can give me that much of a joyous feeling.

That said, I'm actually kind of interested in that History of Sonic book that Blue posted. I usually pass that kind of thing right over, but that one kind of has my interest.
