The original Ys doesn't hold up anymore either. The only way they can make it work now is by changing the controls and graphics completely, while keeping the same basic game in place.
But the original version?
Plays like poo now.
Starfox, as well, was basically just a tech demo for 3D graphics on the SNES, and I still see you pining over it, and its 64 iteration.

Star Fox started out as just a tech demo for the SNES' new FX chip, but the designers ended up liking it so much that they told Nintendo to market it. :) It's a pretty good game in it's own right. The shooting is fun and the various paths and things you can trigger to go to additional levels gave the game a lot of replay value. The games soundtrack though has to be the most underrated part of the over all package, there were levels that in full stereo were simply unbelivable. 64's gameplay holds up pretty good as well in my opinion, I just wish it's soundtrack was half as good as the original.

^^I wasn't saying anything against it necessarily, I was just making the point that peoples' interest and love for Nights is no less legitimate and warranted than other peoples' interest and love for Starfox.

I'm enjoying my Saturn right now and hated the wii game. NiGHTS on saturn goes for a hefty price esp with the controller. I just can't justify it. So maaaaaaaaaybe just maybe I might get it on XBLA if cheap enough to see if I like it to get it on Saturn.

Achievements seem to say Christmas Nights is in

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game ... ievements/

I half expected them to release the normal game for 800MSP then the Christmas pack for an extra 400 like they did with SA and its directors cut content.

I've got NiGHTS and Christmas NiGHTS on the Saturn but I am totally going to get this shit upon release. Can't wait to play it in HD, I just hope they don't fuck up the gameplay at all as NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams was a major disappointment.

Yeah the flying sections were still good, there just weren't enough of them. Too much playing as the girl and boy for my liking and the boat sections were dreadful. No need to give NiGHTS such a gay voice aswell.

Same with Sonic. SEGA are unparalleled in their constant unintentional endeavour to ruin their franchises. Cunts.

Yeah not sure why Sega are happy to ruin their characters by adding dreadful voice work to characters that don't really need one.

Nights and SA2 coming 2nd Oct to PSN and 5th Oct on XBLA priced $9.99/£6.49/800MSP each.
Those who own Sonic Adventure 2 will be able to buy Battle Mode DLC for $3 (about £1.84) or 240 Microsoft Points. This content was included in the GameCube version of the release.
