Your personal saddest moments in Gaming *SPOILERS*

Some thing in a game make you cry? Just fill you with sadness or sad rage? Make you g WHY NO WHY?!

Post it...oh and no Aeris isn't really that sad...it was funny.

Final Fantasy VI
Celes' Suicide attempt. How many times have you seen that sort of thing in a game esp on something fromt he 16 bit era?

Legend of Dragoon
Death of Lavitz.

Screw FF7. This character was actually useful and likeable. He is the main guy he won;t die right? WRONG. He dies in the first disc! WTF WHY?

Xenosaga
Albedo.

Before you ask why I named him. Think about it. He can't die. That is tragic. As a boy when he realizes his brother will die and he will be left alone. He freaks out. This curse to lose everyone he loves and he will look the same. He can never fall in love. He can never have the peace of death. That is the most realistic interpretation of immortality IMO. It would drive one to insanity.

The Last Story
Dagran. Sure this might have been predictable esp during a certain stretch.
Still the game has a great character development. Dagran was your mentor and best friend....so you think. He nearly raised you and took you under his wing. Most of your life he is the closest thing you have to a brother and father. Then in the last moments of the game you find out he went insane with revenge and claims to have used them all as pawns to get his vengeance. He turns into a beast losing all that was him. After you kill him his last breath he regrets it. ALso earlier not too long before the final fight. One of the most like able characters and new love of Serena is killed in battle. With dagrans last ounce of strength saves lowel. Despite the betrayal the horrible words and uncertainty of his real intentions. They give him a proper burial and funeral. That is what I find most touching.

Shadow of the Colossus
Entire Ending. Seriously. It's fucked up and so tragic.

Red Dead Redemption. Sadness. Anger. Same with LA Noire but to a much lesser extent.

Another part of Red Dead that I got sort of emotional on was
The horse ride home after he finally finishes his tasks for the cops. That damn song is what does it.

Part of Yakuza 3 I got a little teary with tears of joy.

End of Shenmue left me with a pit of anger and sadness, especially with Iwao's voice over it.

It is.
The fact that the horse STILL went back to its master did it for me.

Same here. They really managed superbly I think. It was the first Rockstar game where I felt that I really connected with the story. Before that I mostly felt like a spectator.
And as a friend said about Red Dead Redemption : almost everyone who played it felt that anger and rushed out for revenge "after" the ending.

I found the end of MGS3 brutal too. The whole situation, the music. And MGS2
when Solidus falls down and stretches his hand towards the statue before dying. He was an enemy but you realize then that he was fighting for freedom in a way. It felt very tragic the way he tried clinging to the statue .

Zelda Skyward Sword maybe. It's kind of a bittersweet ending.

Shenmue II's ending is another one for me (or Iwao's letter) due to the feeling that something big was happening. Ryo and Shenhua figuring out things etc. Maybe not sadness but a feeling of being at the start of something grand. Too bad we're still wondering... That's maybe the saddest one of them all

Edit : I forgot one that I really want to mention : Journey. If you allow yourself to get immersed it almost transcends gaming. It's very deep in a way and made many think about the journey and goal. For some it doesn't do anything but I was very overwhelmed. It made me forget about the real world around me for a while. Left thinking with some otherworldly feeling. I won't say much since it would spoil it all.
'
Some random reactions that I found. Unfortunately I can't find one from right after release with the guy calling it a "once in a generation" game.

DP.

Majora's Mask.

Keife or however you spell his name.
They get back together just minutes before end of the world after all that time they are not just going to die.

Lisa Trevor is an original one and indeed tragic within the context of such a game.

Wrong. Must you resort to attention-seeking in every topic!?

Anyway, that moment above, plus the one where Nanaki finds the truth about his dad are about the only proper "sad" moments I remember, though I will probably remember some more if I read them here...

Holy fucking shit how can a joke be a call for attention?! Seriously get off the Ryudo bash bandwagon. Not to mention it's not even my joke.

It is funny. In a sense. She was useless practically and the more unlikable emo moody cloud with a character that did nearly nothing and was 1 dimensional plus just an object for a plot device. That's it. That's why it's funny. It's not even that well done. Hell even Mareg is more tragic than that over hyped tripe.

Speaking of such

In no particular order, I'll list anything I think of besides Shenmue....

1. It's not entirely sad, but incredibly moving, the end of A Mind Forever Voyaging made me cry. What an utterly unique masterpiece.

2. To the Moon. The whole thing.

3. Whenever Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicks Obscura wasn't satirical, it was downright sad.

4. No spoilers, but Syberia had a few moments and a general mood of sadness.

5. Shadowgate 64, same thing.

6. I may have been affected most by the end of Grim Fandango. The "This Little Light Of Mine" scene was spellbinding.

I'll definitely think of more later.

Because it may be a joke to you, buy your already bashing people who may think Aeris' storyline was genuinely sad for them. You did it yesterday too with people who genuinely like and use Twitter, but instead of just saying you have an opinion on something, you take it further by calling them names (yesterday) or creating a topic and basically saying people cannot post that what happened to Aeris was sad because you think its funny.

How do you not see that? :???:

Anyways, Shenmue and Majoras Mask are the only two i can think of right now. I will need to come back on this. :-k

Basically what Peter said above.

There is one really obvious one on the edge of my mind that I just can't remember just now. It doesn't include the time I almost cried when I broke my first Xbox, or any time when I may have been drinking gin and just randomly burst into tears when playing a game. ;-)
