Turns out Kiwami is getting a regular clamshell release, rather than just the steelbook they previously had listed. Cancelled the steelbook preorder and reordered with the regular version. The cover art kinda sucks though.
And Battle Chasers just looks better every time I look at it. Hauled out the old comics the other day and started dorking out at the prospect of finally getting to see that story continue, as well as finally getting official voices for the characters. Can't wait to hear Calibretto and Knolan.

A couple of shmups and a Run n Gun. Gunhound EX is basically an Assault Suit game and by the same devs as the PS4 version of Assault Suit Leynos.

Are there any big titles that are worth buying the Switch for other than BoTW? Not being condescending btw i'm genuinely asking since I haven't kept up with the console at all.

I won't speak past 2017 but outside of Nintendo first party games like Mario kart 8 DX it's mainly smaller japanese titles. Switch mainly has Vita tier games. Niche Japanese stuff mostly and a lot of indie stuff. RiME,Bomberman,Lego City,Wonderboy(both of them),neo geo ports,Fast RMX,Redout,NBA 2k,NBA Playground,FIFA,Cave Story,Stardew,Yooka and more. Doesn't have a lot of AAA western games yet tho. Only western big games I know of coming to it this year is Battle Chasers,Skyrim and Payday 2. Nintendo games it has ARMS (think a watered down Virtual On) Splatoon 2,Mario Odyssey,Mario X Rabbids,Xenoblade 2 in 2017.

It has stuff but like I said Vita tier stuff outside of Nintendo first party games. It won't replace anyone's PS4.

Monster Hunter XX. Coming out later this year, but the announcement alone brought Nintendo stock price to rise almost 6%.

Nintendo's share price was already rising regardless, even in the absence of any new information. That later announcement of Monster Hunt XX only vindicated the gut instincts of many speculative investors, as a post-decision justification of a buying frenzy that was little better then gambling. I expect that Nintendo's share prices will crash back down to earth again, just like with Nintendo's belated push towards mobile gaming; once investors figure out that Monster Hunter XX won't have an appreciable impact on sales. It's just an upscaled port of a 3DS and hardly the kind of third-party support that inspires confidence in gamers.

As great as this year has been for games so far, I haven't had time to buy all the games I want. Nor the money due to the Switch hogging a majority of it. Here's my list(s). I'm only going to put what has already been announced and my expected time to play them; not necessarily when they release.

Bought in 2017 thus far:
- Double Dragon 4 (PS4)
- For Honor (PS4)
- Mass Effect Andromeda (PS4)
- Nintendo Switch System (128GB microSD, screen protector, 2 Pro Controllers)
- Zelda Breath of the Wild (NS)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (NS)

On the list for the rest of 2017:
- Destiny 2 (PS4) - will preorder as I coop with my brother
- Uncharted Lost Legacy (PS4) - hoping for a collector's edition
- Sonic Mania (undecided if NS or PS4) - hoping for physical edition
- Detroit Become Human (PS4) - if it comes out this year
- Mario Odyssey (NS) - Christmas gift for the kids
- CoD WW2 (PS4) - Possible first CoD I ever buy
- Wreckfest (PS4) - if this year. Preordered via crowd funding
- Shenmue 3 (PS4) - Obviously preordered via Kickstarter

The NS lineup for the foreseeable future is looking pretty bleak for my tastes.

2018 and Beyond: (yes, I think this far ahead)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4) - will preorder
- God of War (PS4)
- Ace Combat 7 (PS4)
- Far Cry 5 (PS4) - Possible first Far Cry I ever buy
- The Last of Us Part 2 (PS4) - 2018? Will preorder
- Days Gone (PS4) - possible buy
- Resident Evil 2 Remake (PS4) - 2018?
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake (PS4) - 2020?

Obviously, my list is fluid and always changing. I expect E3 to move things around a bit and add to it.

Finally, after well over a decade and a half of waiting...this game is mine.

Image

Yes, it's complete, yes it works, yes I love this series dearly (number 2 favourite SEGA series behind Shenmue and just in front of Shinobi which I also love - Sonic probably being my fourth or fifth next to Streets of Rage), yes I have a Saturn to play it on (which I have been all weekend), yes it was a lot of money but far less than what it normally goes for, yes I really have waited a decade and a half to purchase this game like a sad bastard and yes it is fucking awesome.

I purchased an HTC vive last night. I always wanted one, but the release of Star Trek: Bridge crew is what really caused me to pull the trigger. I was a massive fan of bridge commander, and an actual multiplayer version of that is precisely what the Star Trek nerd in me wanted.

I do not understand why this game requires VR, though. It can be played with a controller, and no moving around is required. I guess ubisoft got paid big bucks to make this VR to help sell PSVR and HTC Vive units. The game came free with my purchase of the vive.
