Random Gaming Thoughts (Read OP Before Posting)

So Kotaku found out what happened to they're PS4 and fixed it. Turns out the one they were handed had its hdmi port damaged due to someone most likely jamming the cable in there. Guessing its the same issue for any others thats had the problem too. Lesson learned is basically be more gental. They got a pin and simply pushed the connectors back into position and it works fine now.

Deja Vu exclusive mission for Ground Zeroes. It's a PS1 Snake skin where you rescue Donald Anderson. The guards are all Genome Soldiers. Pretty lame.

That was it? How lame.
And Uncharted 4 got announced too. Boooring.

There's some speculation of the new Uncharted being a kind of reboot. As in, not Nathan Drake and friends. Sounds more interesting than a plain Uncharted 4. Still be a cover shooter, though.

That doesn't sound interesting to me at all. Nathan Drake is Uncharted. Anyone else, and it may as well not be the same series. You can't do Indiana Jones without Indiana Jones, you can't do Tomb Raider without Lara Croft, and you can't do Uncharted without Nathan Drake. They may as well just call it a new IP.

I'd really prefer it if Amy Hennig would create a new IP. Uncharted has run its course with me. 2 was an excellent game, but the story is done. Never felt the need to play 3 in the end up, nor Golden Abyss (Vita Uncharted) because neither of them will ever reach 2 in terms of quality.

Uncharted is nothing without Drake. I doubt he wont be there.

I agree it'd be cool to see a new IP, but I can't really agree that the story is "done," especially if your reference point is Uncharted 2. Uncharted only loosely has an overarching story; it's the kind of series where as long as there's an adventure to be had, they could always do another one, and it could always be great.
Uncharted 3 may not have been quite as amazing an experience as U2 was, but that doesn't say much to discredit it. It was still absolutely worth playing, still of the utmost quality all-around. And if it's an overall story you're worried about, it has some big punches in that department too.
There's still a lot of room for Uncharted to stretch its legs. Whether it'll ever again hit the high note that was Uncharted 2 is hard to say, but that doesn't mean the series should be put out to pasture.

With Uncharted you just need some old legend and throw Nathan Drake in to make some jokes and shoot things. Uncharted 2 was my highlight but I love that series as a whole. Even if this new game doesn't have Nathan Drake I'll give it a go as Naughty Dog has been one of my favoruite developers this generation.

Ok so my lucky ass just got a PS4 and also im getting the Xbox One at launch as an early birthday gift.
But I havent opened my PS4 yet. Theirs a ton of people reporting hardware and software malfunctions. Most of them are related to the 1.5 firmware update. So once they do a 1.51 ill open it with more confidence.

2 gaming thoughts:

I re-realize the fact that every generation of games has games that push the current tech beyond its time and after getting Blaster Master yesterday after having seen so many reviews recently, I have a renewed interest in seeking out NES gems. Wow, what a game.

Also, reminiscing about the old days with my friends the other day, we talked about Tony Hawk Pro Skater all night. After that conversation, I was fixated on getting it again, which I did for the Gamecube. THPS 3 is even better than I remember. I forgot how immersive the levels are. And when the games allowed you to walk around in the sequels after 4, and explore the towns even more, the game became damn near perfect.
