I know OL is a huge fan and was unhappy when it got canned so here it is:

The main reason the game was originally cancelled was because they couldn’t get it to come together.

Over the years since the game was cancelled, time has been devoted to upping the quality of the game system.

Granzella’s new company Gz Studio is developing the game. It’s made up of staff from the Irem days.

The “Plus” in the title signifies that the game is being rebuilt. The original version of the game is being used as a base, but everything is being completely revised from zero.

It’s not that you escape a week after the earthquake, sometimes you go back to the same place two or three days later.

Situations at the same locations will change as time progresses. (For example, when cranes begin reconstruction.)

The degree of how the protagonist’s decisions influences post-development has greatly increased.

If you eat expired foods or don’t use the toilet, it will impact your performance.

Since it’s being developed for PlayStation 4, Kujo wants to put in an element that lets players feel like they’re connected somehow.

I thought they cancelled it due to the Tohuko earthquakes?

I loved Disaster Report and Raw Danger for the PS2!

Here's hoping they bring this over to the US.

They did, they just won't admit it. They probably think it would sound like them admitting to some kind of "wrongdoing," even though there's obviously nothing wrong with making these games. Business strategy is weird like that sometimes.

Anyway, the game looks magnificent all the same. Look pretty much just how they left it initially, just a little prettier due to being on PS4 now. Really hope this one comes west, and hopefully without the silly, unnecessary localizations that occurred with past games. Earlier games had a certain charm to their terrible translations and changes, but it'd be nice to get at least one entry untouched.

Never played any of these games, but always heard good things. If it comes to the west i'll pick it up.

HEY!

I didn't even know there was a 3. Time to find out what I've missed.

They practically just remade the original trailer for the PS3 version. Same music and everything, far as I remember.
I guess they've entirely turned the main character into a girl though?
And is it just me, or does it still look kind of... early? Like, it almost feels like even less work has been finished on this version than what had been shown in the PS3 one. The original PS3 trailer showed people all over the place, firemen putting out fires, a companion for the protagonist, and honestly the destruction had a little more "oomph" in the old trailer as well.
I'm guessing they're still just kind of early in translating all the old elements into a new engine or something.

^Nothing announced yet although it still hasn't even got a release date for Japan yet and I imagine it will be a bit after after the Japanese release if it came West.

Never played a disaster report but I am curious what consequences the game has in mind for you when you don't take a shit for a really really long time.

Nice to finally see a slight update... but that trailer pretty much just features all the same environments that were already shown before. Just from across the street in some cases. Kinda weird.
Looking forward all the same. Just thinking about it give me a hankering to play the first two games all over again. Kind of wish a remaster existed so I didn't have to haul out the PS2.

I thought this was vaporwave of the best kind.

Better than sonic forces IMO.
