E3 2017 - Games, dates & rumors

Postby Axm » Thu Jun 15, 2017 2:40 am

Nintendo winning when they have a new console library to fill with obvious mainstays is like saying Sony announced a new Gran Turismo and God of War and Microsoft announced a new Gears of War and Forza except its after years of nothing.
It's less of a win and more of a "well fucking finally you should be" and thats a suppose to be a surprise in of itself.
But still ya, they make fun games so win because I can buy a switch without feeling like it's gonna be dead in a few years.

I've been ironically fortunate to have gotten a Wii U when I had a little more money if only because I already have the only two must have games for the Switch available. But looking at E3, that's rapidly about to change.

Yup. PS4 I think is $250. Switch is $300.

Yup. PS4 I think is $250. Switch is $300.

Damn the PS4 here is $334 and switch $367. I think I'll be waiting for a significant price drop before I get one.

$445 here. It's annoying how video companies treat $1 as being €1 in Europe.

While I'd like to say Nintendo "won". I simply can't. Odyssey and Prime 4 are huge deals and day 1 purchases, obviously. As are Yoshi and Kirby. But the lack of VC is really frustrating to me. My Switch is currently collecting dust cos there isn't shit to play on the thing anymore. I already beat BOTW. ARMS didn't interest me. Splatoon 2 doesn't seem like much of an improvement over the first entry. I was hoping to at least get Syberia 3 and Yooka-Laylee in the mean time. But neither of those are out or even have a release date. Its been months and we haven't heard anything. I was hoping for some updates at E3. But nope.

This is typically Nintendo and I'm sure the wait will be worth it. But for now. My Switch is gonna stay put, I guess. At least until the Zelda DLC drops.

Europe does normally get shafted, but often not as badly as we think, because it's easy to forget that US prices don't include tax, whereas in the UK for example, VAT is already factored in.

I guess that would depend on the state really, I was told not every state in the US does the thing where they show prices minus tax.

This game looks really good to me (immersive sim/Action RPG vampire game):

Another cool looking mid tier game (H.P. Lovecraft video games are always a win for me):

I think overall though, the new Mario game for Switch might be game of E3 for me. Most excited I've been for a Mario since the N64 days. I'm excited to try out the Metroid 2 remake for 3DS as well though, making it my first venture into the Metroid series.

You mean like in advertisements? Or list price? I thought UK does it that was as well because in the times I bought something from GAME/GameStation they do/did that. Like the 3 Wii games I bought in 2011 were listed at £39.99 and more recently Wipeout Omega Collection with Steelbook at £29.99,or am I just missing something obvious here? Tho you mentioned Euro so maybe not in the UK? I thought you were. My bad if not. What I get for assuming.

Right now I'm in France so euros. but what we were talking about is how in the USA they don't list the complete price in some places only the price it costs before tax.

Yeah they put a * next to them ad in small text before taxes or something sometimes. So Switch is listed/Advertised as $299.99 and PS4 Pro $399.99. Each state has a different sales tax so I don't know what it is everywhere. Utah where I live I think it's somewhere around 6.8%. California is close to 10% but don't know what the other 48 are.
