If Sega also bought EA and Ubisoft

Like they did with Atlus how would you feel? EA and Ubisoft has been listening to feedback a lot recently and Sega would have a lot more franchises! I know this will never happen. But if it did I wonder what it would look like.

Hasn't EA tried to buy Ubisoft themselves, but failed? And I think EA (I am still stuck happily in 1999...) is too big for the likes of SEGA or really anyone to buy. However if SEGA did buy EA, would that mean they could do NFL2K sooner, since EA has the exclusive rights to the NFL? Does SEGA even still have NFL2K?

I was going to make a joke about Sega buying EA and assigning responsibility for Shenmue 4 to Peter Moore.

But then I discovered he actually left EA in February to become CEO of Liverpool Football Club! Did y'all know about this?

Sega cant afford to just up and buy EA. I just looked it up and EA is worth about 9-12 billion and Sega-Sammy combined also at about 9-12 billion all assets included.

If anyone is buying anyone it would be one of the big three going for exclusivity. Which is not even worth the cost because they make enough money as it is to dump so much risk into a basket.

With the way things are going it's more likely that Nintendo will declare bankruptcy and have their IPs sold off piecemeal. That way everybody, including Sega, gets a little bit of Nintendo when the dust settles.

...

Anyway, Sega buying EA might be difficult but Ubisoft could be more feasible. I think that Sega could make use of Ubisoft's IPs without too much trouble. I'd love to see another 3D Rayman again, that's something Sega leadership could definitely make possible.

I'm sure other companies would jump at the chance to hang Mario's cap and dungarees in their wardrobes, but they'd soon find out it's not the clothes that make the mascot.

They can't even make use of their own IPs without too much trouble.

What I'm saying is that Ubisoft's IPs aren’t too different from some of Sega's own IPs, meaning that it wouldn't seem strange for Sega to repurpose a few of those Ubisoft IPs as their own. In particular, I mentioned Rayman as an IP that would fit in well with many of the characters that Sega has created over the years.

Yes, in that regard it would make more sense than acquiring Bethesda's IPs, for example.

Is this a joke topic? Vivendi are legitimately trying to buy Ubisoft, and have been for some years now. They already own roughly 25% of shares. How on earth is Sega going to buy.......

What?

Sonic's edge (unrelated to shadow the hedgehog)

It's amazing how you can find sonic fanart for pretty much anything though.
