Mario Odyssey

Thinking this looks awesome. I liked the Galaxy games but they were a little to linear and I prefer the hub like worlds of 64 and Sunshine which this seems to be going back to. The only thing that's stopping me getting this is that there are no other games I want on the Switch since I played Zelda and Mario Kart on the WiiU, but this will be one of the first games I get when I do.

Yeah I've been waiting on this one for awhile. Definitely picking it up on Friday. Haven't really played much lately, been busy with work/gym and writing music in my free time. Can't wait to just kick back and play something new. My switch (and everything else) has been neglected for the past couple months lol.

It looks amazing. Nintendo seem to be releasing classic after classic this gen.

That's overstating things quite a bit. You have the regular instalments of Nintendo's mainstays like Mario and Zelda and a few middling games like Splatoon and Arms but nothing to really distinguish the Switch's limited library of games. In the end Mario Odyssey is still going to be a tough sell, last-gen graphics on a console being sold at next-gen prices, that's just bad economics. Never mind what's going to happen at Christmas when both Sony and Microsoft can really drop the price on their hardware since they have a couple of year’s head start on Nintendo.

What an amazing game my freaking god

WOW

I just hope there's a lot more I haven't seen from trailers.

Incredible, 2 hours playing or so.

Just watched HCG's review on it. He said it takes 15 to 20 hours to finish if you're blasting through it but there is still so much additional stuff to do after that. so I guess it is quite a bit bigger than what the trailers showed.

Also everyone is saying this game is absolutely incredible. It might actually make me get a switch.

Getting a Switch for one game isn’t sensible

Freaking god, I don't want to spoil much. But I guess everyone knows the city...

FUCK.

I was really torn between BotW and this, and I still think that BotW is more revolutionary to videogames, but this game is fucking pure JOY.

I've got Mario Odyssey being shipped to me from Amazon at the moment. I preordered via Prime to save $10. Once it arrives, it will be going into the closet into hiding to not see light again until Christmas morning. Should be a Merry Switchmas at my house.

Guys really, don't rush this game AT ALL.

I already finished it.

Amazing, but was expecting something around 30 hours, not 10/12.

I hear it has motion controls. Are the motion controls invasive like Zelda Skyward Sword or are they minimal like in New Super Mario?

It seems to be either/or. Like, if you want to sling Mario's Cap you can swing your joycon to do it, but if you would rather not you can do the same thing by pushing the Y button. I think in Skyward Sword you really didn't have a choice in the matter.
