Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. If any of this is in any way true and King Bong Wok actually did threaten China, then he must be genuinely stupid. Just need to wait for him to threaten Putin too then he can have pretty much the whole world against him!

I guess he assumes since China can't allow a pro-American unification of the Korean peninsula then his buffer zone is untouchable. This is an incredibly interesting turn of events though as I am very interested in seeing how China will handle this. On one hand they definitely can't leave it to the Americans and south Koreans if they want to be the next superpower, on the other, North Korea could easily become their Afghanistan or Vietnam (which China already lost a war to) if they chose to directly invade it.

Would the NK people be as motivated as the Afghans and Vietnamese were though? I mean I'm sure his brainwashing is pretty intense, and the fear of their families getting slaughtered if a NK soldier dared surrender to a Chinese or American army looming over them is pretty real, but wouldn't a lot of them actually WANT him taken out?

I can't really give a certain answer to that but from what I gathered from defectors is that the brainwashing runs so deep that I wouldn't be surprised if the majority supported him in the event of a war.

Damn.

It'd be pretty awesome to actually BE a dictator though, wouldn't it?

You shouldn't bash something until you've tried it.

Not sure if being a dictator is all that and a bag of chips tbh. I have firm socialist ideals.

Are you a Conservative?

Ha. Why am I asking? I already know.

I'm don't hate tories as much as most people do, but I'm definitely not "fans" of them either. I voted SNP so that's probably closer to "socialist" than most other parties.
You can be a socialist dictator too. Colonel Gadaffi was one! In a lot of ways this list makes it sound like their society had a better way of doing things than plenty of capitalist Western countries!

I wouldn't take that article too seriously as it's sources are hardly scholarly. That being said if he was implying being socialist means you can't be authoritarian then he's either trolling or incredibly uninformed.

It's not a good decision to be posting about politics on social media... we don't need a Dina moment.

Jeremy Corbyn looks how I imagine Frankie Boyle's uncle does. Y'know the one who had the box with the dead monkey in it?
