NTSC or PAL

Hi my original PAL copy of Shenmue has finally given up the ghost after 4 years of solid play. As just disk 1 was broken i downloaded a copy of it from supernova and i am unsure which version it is. is there anyway to check??

I think a quick simple way to tell is when you load the game do you get the option of 50Hz or 60Hz? If so then it's a PAL version, if it doesn't give you the option then it could still be PAL and the way to tell is there might be two black borders at the top and bottom of the screen, that would mean it's playing in PAL 50Hz.

And if there is no 50/60Hz option and no borders then I would say it's US NTSC

I played a bootleg copy that didn't give you the 50/60 option but when played it had the black borders top and bottom which means it was playing PAL 50hz.

Hope this of some help, maybe someone has an easier way of telling?
