I want someone who owns the Ryo watch on the day of Shenmue III release to film themselves looking at it on their wrist and yell "IT'S TIME! IT'S TIME! IT'S SHENMUE TIME! In reference to big van Vader.

Seriously, take your shitposting out of the Shenmue forums. I won't be standing for it in here. I will say it once.

huh? That's shit posting? I do want to see someone do that because we waited all this time for it and it would finally be time? Was having a little jest. I didn't know that was shit posting. Oh well. Sorry if I offended you. I meant no disrespect.

I have acquired a new favourite daily coffee mug after seeing Yu using the same one (though his is Shenhua's). Of course knowing it's valuable I'll naturally cry if I ever drop it.

You're welcome. I never thought I'd be informing you of details about the watch.
Thanks for getting back to me with the number. It backs up my feeling this "correct ring" version is the earlier one.

At first the video link didn't work for me, so I started replying to your post and noticed a url under the quote.
But it didn't work. I found it here though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGbV-vOyFiw

What a great video. I'm really surprised by the sound quality of the unit.
Although it must be high end to have been retailing for the equivalent of $530.
I can hardly believe it's 45 years old.
I absolutely love your custom labels for the cassette and buttons.

OMG I got chills at 7:07 when you started playing the tape.
It's just the most achingly cool Shenmue item.
Sincere thanks for the video BlueMue.
Just fantastic. =D>

28th July, I haven't seen one for sale yet. I've a feeling it's super rare.

I'm not sure if this is the place to post links to rare Shenmue items. Maybe someone can let me know.
I think it happened earlier in the thread with the Ltd Shenmue Watch.

Anyway. There are only 6 and a bit hours left on the auction. But no bidders. And no wonder! The starting price is $900 and Buy It Now is $1,500

Shenmue Rare Early USA English Prototype Ver. 0.100

"Prototype build of Shenmue 1 for Dreamcast. This is the 6/21/2000 USA build (ver. 0.100), which is early in the English conversion process. There are some differences from the final version, with things like Coke machines still being present. There's also a debug menu included that allows you to jump to any area or scene, or manipulate time.

These discs were well tested by Sega employees, so naturally there are signs of wear, but the condition is very good considering their age."

It's the same one sold 1 year and half ago. Buyer's remorse I guess.

\:D/ I got Ryo Hazuki's watch. He didn't give it up easily, but I just kept spamming him with Crawl Cyclone.

8 months of searching eventually paid off. I'd have bought even a well used example but there's not a mark on it.
It's the first T43371 I've seen for sale with the correct text on the ring.
Even the Ltd Edition Shenmue watch has the wrong text all around the ring. And it's printed upside down!

I've pulled the top crown out to stop it and save the battery because I have no intention of using it until I get Shenmue III, then I'm wearing it every single time I play!
I'll switch it back on the night before I get Shenmue III, so I can wake up to the alarm.
I just don't know if I can sleep in my jeans and t-shirt
The light and alarm are exactly the same as in the game. I got goose bumps hearing the alarm for the first time.
I've left just enough time to make it home before Ine-san starts worrying.

Some info to help anyone who is looking to buy this Timex T43371...

It doesn't say the model number on the watch, so it's unlikely that sellers would use that in their listing.
I was searching ebay for Timex expedition, Timex indiglo, and Shenmue watch.
I found 7 of the 'alternative text version' but the search which led me to this one was "Timex WR50".
Possibly the seller thought this was the model number printed on the face, but it means Water Resistant to 50m.
I'm sure that's why, fortunately, there weren't many bidders.

Now I just have to make some patches for the vintage leather A-2 Bomber jacket I bought for £15, stock up on
Pot Noodles and 'Jet' Cola, then I'm totally ready for Shenmue III. Bring it on!!!

Managed to snag another rare Shenmue item for my collection. Didn't come cheap (when do they ever!).

Hopefully be here within the week so will put up pics then. Definitely a good few months for my collection. I. Struggling to think of any items now that would come with a high ticket price tag. Think the jigsaw puzzle is the only last item, which I got outbid on with £575 a little while back on Yahoo Japan.

Hey Peter- is it the Shenmue-branded Dreamcast console?

I saw it on eBay but the price was too high for me. That's the second one that has unfortunately slipped through my fingers and remains one of a few missing unicorns in my collection.

Thanks bud. I opened it and the contents inside are all brand new, so I'm over the moon with it. He was selling them with the Japanese games but I told him to keep them, and knock £80 off the price, which he did.

Good strategy.

I asked if he would just sell the sleeve only since I have a boxed NTSC DC I had in mind to pair it with, but no dice.

It belongs with the original Japanese console anyway.
