This could be nothing, but then again this always can be a hint. Either way any grain of Shenmue news is good news for me. Always fun to reignite speculation and discussion. What are your thoughts? Is it merely some magazine making their own predictions? Do they know something we don't know? Should I stop talking? Fire away.

Could be nothing as that's not a very reliable mag. Probably just put it in because of the interview a little while back.

Hell most XBox mags listed Shenmue III

It's from earlier this year, when the Internet was on the brink of exploding over a vague, non-committal remark from a PR rep whose job it is to make vague, non-committal remarks. You'd have to think that if there was any actual evidence to support this listing, it would have been more widely reported on by now.

That's not to say that Shenmue HD definitely won't happen. Just that this "mud at the wall" magazine snippet is, almost certainly, a red herring.

These spanish fans posted that same video on their forums. They seem to be quite ecstatic at the news haha. I think we've been here for so long it's now more of a "well, we'll just wait and see" mentality. Should be like the Spaniards and pop out the champaigne

Was only ever speculation. Gaming mags do it a lot.of the time. Usually get dates wrong, but can usually "announce" games that actually never see the light of day.

Well, I found the video itself on youtube. I do my weekly Shenmue news excavation by looking at google, youtube etc. I came across this video. The magazine is a June edition, so it's after that March announcement. The Spanish website I was referring to was a Sega fan forum that posted the same video. They're just merely a fan site like us, but I just found it funny was that their reaction was more hopeful than ours XD

EDIT: Also, It's a June edition, but they were passing it out at a game Expo in October.

There are probably ways to contact staff member associated with this mag and simply ask what they are basing that info off of. Likely it's the same rumors we've heard, but they did take it another level by putting it in print and assuming (?) the games will be released as one (as they should be)

I like that idea. Perhaps I'll do that soon. If they give me a bullshit answer, I'll call back with the Ryo soundboard. Let hilarity ensue.

I would disagree there. I would say it already exists, and i firmly believe that the rumors are true in regards to Sega not releasing it based on it would simply attract even more attention to Shenmue III.

The announcement of BOTH Shenmue and Shenmue II HD is also a confirmation of Shenmue III for me.

Peter, I think by "they" he means the magazine and by "what they don't have" he means a release date. He's not commenting on the existence of Shenmue HD.
