You could have the real thing if you ever get your butt back to London and tried some classes with that master I linked you too! You need not travel to HK.

On a slightly related note. This is from a very recent Tai Ji workshop last weekend in London with grand master Chen XiaoWang (and no I'm not in this pic):


Grand master CXW is the guy in the background wearing the Chinese style shirt (and the other Chinese guy in the light blue trousers is my Shifu!). He's like the real life Jianmin but a thousand times better! [/ CXW fanboy moment]


Anyway, all that aside, I think the one thing I'd most like to be real from Shenmue (that isn't already real) is Xiuying Hong! Whadda woman. One of the greatest and most unsung female characters in the gaming medium, as far as I am concerned. Whats not to love about her, she's deadly, mysterious, wise, serious, strong and elegant.

Haha, he'd probably be game for that. wrestling is actually a component within Chen Tai ji training, and Chen Xiaowang (like all tai ji masters) just loves throwing people around!

This one might sound a bit weird, but I've always wanted to try a can of Fruda Orange, actually. I know there are many alternatives such as Fanta, Tango, etc., but Fruda Orange itself has always struck me (from the design of the can anyway) as a much lighter, fruitier, almost creamier take on an orange-flavoured soft drink. Couldn't care less about the grape-flavoured one, though.

No worries. Do you study Baji? I actually used to study a little bit Bajiquan too a while back. Fantastic stuff, but quite different from Tai Ji of course.

No but I'd like to.
There's a school at 20 min of home (by car) but it seems to be only focused on the martial part.
The second seems very serious but only advanced students of mantis and taijiquan can enter in the class. This school seems to be very serious and it's also focused on caligraphy, medicine and all the chinese ancient arts so in my opinion it's the best choice. But this one is actually a little far.

I studied Karate some years ago but the dojo closed.

wow, that sounds interesting! Though, it does sound strange that you are expected to be advanced before you even partake in the schools classes. My Shifu mainly just teaches Taiji and different kinds Qi Gong, and occasionally does workshops in things like traditional Chinese nutrition and cooking, and Tui na. There's so many different aspects of Chen Taiji (not to mention the different Qi Gongs I do) as it is, that while I would absolutely love to, I just don't think I would find the time to learn calligraphy or anything else as well, for now at least anyway.
