Me it's really simple. His neighborhood. Be awesome to me if I ad the apt I have now but lives in Yamanose. Be so close to Dobuita. My first apartment when I moved in and as much as in love with Shenmue then as Peter is now.
I lived close to a shopping street so I always thought of shenmue for those first couple years. I just know I would be in Yu Arcade a hell of a lot. Be in TCM a lot to listen to the music. My fave area in the series has always been Yamanose.

I fell in love with hong kong when I first got shenmue 2 and have had a weird obsession with it ever since so if anything I would like an area like kowloon that has cities inside the tower blocks, where you can find a restaurant area at the 7th floor and a shopping area at the 9th, it introduced me to a whole new level of urban exploration that felt so much alive and new

so yeah I would like to visit a place like the kowloon in shenmue 2 and have a martial arts master like jianmin

Well I guess this story kind of fits but when I went to Japan this summer I bought my sister an amulet as a souvenir like Nozomi gave to Ryo in S1 which I thought was pretty cool.

You could have the real thing if you ever get your butt back to London and tried some classes with that master I linked you too! You need not travel to HK.

On a slightly related note. This is from a very recent Tai Ji workshop last weekend in London with grand master Chen XiaoWang (and no I'm not in this pic):

Grand master CXW is the guy in the background wearing the Chinese style shirt (and the other Chinese guy in the light blue trousers is my Shifu!). He's like the real life Jianmin but a thousand times better! [/ CXW fanboy moment]

Anyway, all that aside, I think the one thing I'd most like to be real from Shenmue (that isn't already real) is Xiuying Hong! Whadda woman. One of the greatest and most unsung female characters in the gaming medium, as far as I am concerned. Whats not to love about her, she's deadly, mysterious, wise, serious, strong and elegant.

I'd air out books all day long for you Xiuying Hong!

I wish I spoke fluent Japanese. Tho been trying on apps. One lets me try and draw Kanji the other teaches phrases and sentence structure and the last is just speak and repeat.
