It's a really tall, heavy building. The basement probably used to be the ground floor.

I appreciate how the QTEs actually make sense in shenmue, if it tell you to press left he'll dodge to the left, if it's A he'll kick or jump, if it's b he'll grap someone etc it's refreshing compared to many modern qte's where the button is just random to add some interactivity to long cutscenes telling a mediocre story.

I often watch BlueMue's videos because they focus largely on events/pieces of dialogue that will go undiscovered by most players.

I'd like to see a video where Ryo has enough money for the plane ticket. I don't think I've ever seen anybody make a video on that before.

But in the game, he goes in, sits down, talks to the guy and says I'll come back. He does this even with the right amount of money?

You can never get that amount of money at that poing by any means in the game. Only cheats can do that and those are external forces are not something the developers have to keep in mind, even reward them so to speak.
So they never made a different cutscene or dialogue since it would just never happen.

Well to be perfectly clear there is an unused and unfinished cutscene where Jimmy gives Ryo the boat ticket apparently, but it's unrelated to the idea here.
