I loved the forklifts,The racing and the actual job(in shenmue that is). It was an original idea and I was pretty good at it.

I loved the forklifts, especially the races. They should have had a similar job in Shenmue II, but not force you do it(do it when you choose too, like the crate job)

nah, i dont think so......racing them was the coolest thing ever! I laughed the first time I saw it but it was cool!!! Definetly one of the best fetures I've ever seen in a game

Did you notice that nobody passed in the race. Whatever number there Forklift was was wheere they placed. And if Ryo won then they placed one position back.

It's because each has a slightly better forklift than the other

Driving the forklifts is fun. It took me some time to learn how to drive them quickly enough to win the races, but after that I won almost every day.

That's one of the reasons why I somewhat prefer Shenmue 1 to the sequel...the variety of things to do is greater, from riding a motorcycle to driving a forklift. The play control when operating a forklift is really responsive.
