Shenmue Dojo

Playing through Shenmue 1 again, and it seems like every other day this dude is trying to bum a free soda off of me. I'm getting really sick of having to shell out 100 Yen so this dude can line his stomach with acid. Dude says he's thirsty...then get some fucking tap water or something. Either that, or Tao-san needs to pay his employees better. What makes it worse is that every time he does it, he acts like he doesn't even remember me doing it for him the day before. If you ask me, I say that it's just a scheme to try and get a free winning can. Asshole.

Did you know that if you hug the wall and walk all the way to the left you can get past him and skip the scene.

LOL I bought him one cola, then every time after that I just said No. I'm not really sure why this scene needs to be triggered more than once though? Unless you are buying him the wrong drink (beggars can be choosers then?)

Btw, does anyone remember the old homeless guy out in the harbour who asks for a coffee at one point? He was under the giant crane at the far end. Only ever saw him there once but I remember buying him a soda instead and he was none too happy

Well, he will try to translate but will say that he can't read the kanji, and refers you to Xia - san in the antique shop.

Tao-San has Wang by the balls. Wang is an illegal immigrant who is being sought by Japan's border control. Tao took advantage of this by forcing to him to effectively be his slave in exchange for keeping his secret/not giving him up to the feds, paying him in Chinese leftovers only (drinks not included). This is why he's so thirsty.

...I'd still rather keep the 100 yen, though.

Yes.... Wang got into some deep shit in China after trying to murder a government official. The only reason Tao took him in is because Wang is the nephew of a close friend that Tao-san owed a favor to from way back. Either way, if Wang steps foot back in China he's a dead man

I heard Guizhang is another who will translate the scrolls for you? But you have to phone him up at a specific time or something.

the weird thing is though. he fled to hong kong during shenmue 2 where he can be found in the yan tin apartments hiding
