Just came across this video posted yesterday by youtube user "Mo To" who has been registered on Youtube since january 2010 but never posted a video before yesterday. No information about him, no comment about the video. Nothing but this 59 minutes video called "Making Of Shenmue".

I don't know if this is worth a new thread or even if this video is new or not, but I've never seen those footage before and despite beeing japanese language only, it's very interesting!

Wow! This is a legendary find/video! This is not the same as the Shenmue Premiere video, but it has a lot of footage never before seen! Hope we will get an English translation of it, soon! :D

My most favourite moment (at 47:53) of the video was when Yu Suzuki was extremely happy watching a small kid playing his game; after all, that's why he made Shenmue, to be enjoyed by players of any age.

Yeah, the bit where Suzuki San looks the most happiest man on earth watching the kid play is very touching.
Must be a hell of a feeling for a game developer to witness people actually play and enjoy your creation.

Glad to see that I'm not spamming the forum with old/unneccesary news. :oops:

It's kind of strange that this footage shows up only now... after 16 years since it has been recorded.

English translation definitely needed.

Actually, that's a TV program aired on NHK BS2 (Japanese national public channel) on July 12, 1999. It might be deleted from YouTube if NHK found it.

I'll re-upload this video to a separate Youtube account and ask Switch to translate it. It's too risky to upload this to our main Youtube channel and then get taken down by a copyright strike. I'll also look into uploading this somewhere like Dailymotion that's less restrictive.

You should have zip your video because videos can be banned from Mediafire too if a copyright is spotted.
