Anyways, the Ine and Fuku theory never made sense partly since:

1. The bad ending in I happens because Ryo doesn't find Zhu in enough time and by that time Zhu or Chai would have ratted the location of the second mirror.

2. The reason Lan Di wants Zhu in the first place is because he possesses info on the second mirror, which in 1 and 2, Lan Di does not know that Ryo has.

3. If Ryo finds and rescues Zhu before he gives up info about the mirror, Lan Di doesn't know the second mirror was located at the Hazuki house, much less that Ryo has it.

4. By doing this, Lan Di has literally no reason to go back to Yokosuka.

5. Ryo will be calling home in III. It makes no sense that Ryo wouldn't at least call home once during his journey, so going home to find them dead wouldn't make sense. If they were murdered, then Ryo would never get a response. And if they were murdered, one of the neighbors would have checked on them eventually. Nozomi, her grandma, and the old man who teaches that one move in the park are all fond of Ine. All Ryo would have to do is check the beginning of the notebook and call Naoyuki to see why they didn't answer, wherein he would learn they were murdered.

The theory that Fuku and Ine would be murdered has always been illogical. Lan Di's motivation is the second mirror. Zhu has this information. This is why Lan Di knows to go to Guilin later in the bad ending for II: Zhu told him the same thing he told Ryo and likely taught him the smoke trick. It's obvious that in each ending Lan Di has gotten info from Zhu on where the Phoenix mirror is.

It isn't that deep and I always thought this was obvious, no offense.
