Oh, shit! Well, it was either that or Bar Toon, and I just couldn't picture ol' Yamagashi having a boogie around the jukebox or snorting coke off the hostess' chest.

Next question: Which Free Battle can be completed within a matter of seconds?

Do you know how many Free Battles there are in Shenmue I AND Shenmue II? You're gonna have to be a lot more specific than that. And what do you mean by a "matter of seconds?" 2 seconds? 3 seconds? 4 seconds? There are plenty of Free Battles throughout Shenmue I & II that can be beaten in a very short amount of time.

You should have followed Rule #5 by ruling out the many "correct answers" to your question. (telling us you're not thinking of THIS answer or THAT answer etc.)

The 2 shortest Free Battles I can think of are:

1) Ryo fighting only 1 of Ren's thugs (in 1st Person view style) in Beverly Hills Wharf after he wakes up on Wong's boat.
2) Ryo fighting that Mantis style street fighter in green clothing where all you have to do is grab him.

But since you're only thinking of only 1 very short Free Battle throughout Shenmue I or II, I will have to go with Choice #1.

You're right; I should have been more specific.

It's in the first game and can be beaten in literally three seconds. Being any more specific will give it away, but I'm confident those who have done so - which isn't a super secret or anything - will know it right away.

Are you referring to when 5 of the sailors ambush Ryo in the Dobuita car park while he's looking for Charlie? Those guys go down after one use of certain moves.

I'll go with, when sailors ambush Ryo at first day of work and demand him to pay "insurance money"

although, i'm not sure about "can be beaten in literally three seconds", if its some specific move(s)(probably mastered enough) then maybe, but with simple punch and kicks I doubt any fight can be that short :-k

Radar is correct.

If the player pulls off a single Cyclone Kick as soon as the fight begins, all three sailors will be caught by the swing, defeating them all at once. From the fight beginning to the post-fight cutscene kicking in is approximately three seconds.

Yeah, I remember that sailors there didn't had much health compared to the rest of the battles, and thats for a good reason I think ;-)
Anyway, question:

In Shenmue II, in Wan Chai, there's passage between two quarters that not shown on the street maps, between which two quarters this passage is?
edit: it's not the one between Wise Men's Qr and Lucky charm Qr

Okay. :multi:

When Ryo picks up the "White Leaf" item in his father's secret basement he notices that there was something strange about it. What did Ryo say that was strange about the White Leaf?

Oh and I forgot to say 'welcome back' to you Radar. Welcome back. :beerchug:

He notices that it hasn't dried out.

I hope the mystery of the white leaf is explained at some point in the future episodes.

OK, next question: one feature of the first Shenmue game is its use of historically-accurate weather. At what point is it incorporated into the gameplay?

I've never used Actual Weather myself, but something is telling me it begins on the second day (i.e., the day after finding out about Charlie). I remember reading a walkthrough of the game that came with Official Dreamcast Magazine, and there was something significant about the second day related to weather.

Probably completely wrong, but may as well take a stab :)

Good try, but that's not it!
