This wasn't the latest or the best but is the only one I founded from the old project.

Nice? It would be wonderful! But it needs a new mesh, or re-do the actual with more polys. I did some experiments and I can say that make clothes and stuff like that in Unity with a nice result is very easy. The hair can be done by the same method.

hey, great project
if you are still willing to do it I can help for 3d moddeling, I dont know much about texturing or coding or game engines though so i you'll have to work the rest out on your own
anyway if you have any requests, or anyone else who wants to make a shenmue fan game just leave a message here and i'll let you know

The thing with Shenmue is that is a very complex game that even most games now doesn't have the depth of it.
The best bet you have, I think, is making some sort of RPG with shenmue theme.
I loved the images that some dude here made, those looked great. Are those here somewhere ?

Some guy that thought himself as a god for making some cool 3d modeling of shenmue, I think he got angry and left the forum.
He showed some great photos of sakuragaoka, I remember one with a bird, other with a street in the night I think it was raining. Those were pretty stunning, Shenmue next gen like.

There also was the shenmue source mod from a couple years ago. The guy made a great looking dojo but then fell off the face of the planet.
But yeah, if your serious about making a fan made shenmue, just know that it really is a lot of work.

Yes I found that thread, but there were other pics that aren't there anymore.
Like the one I said about sakuragaoka in the rain.

Hey guys, happy new year, well anyway i havent even attempted this project it's way to much work as many have stated, but if we all formed a huge group of people who somewhat know what there doing,, and made this a huge open source project, i think we could come up with something lol. But i think theres a better chance of a dreamcast 2 coming out :(

wow looks pretty cool, unity seems like the perfect engine and seems pretty easy to use when i was messing with it. Are those your videos?
http://ichi-3dstuff.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... y-map.html this person seems to already be working on a tech demo of shenmue of some sort with unity lol
