Well i rip the scene with 3D ripper, then import it into max. Then i export to 3ds, convert the DDS textures to png and import into Vue 6 infinite. In Vue i change all textures from dds to png (as Vue cant read DDS), fix geometry by stretching the model in the right direction and render it.

Hmmm well what step do you fail at? Maybe i can help if you're a bit more specific. For the first part - ripping into 3ds i already made a video tutorial. To export to 3ds you just click on file-->export. To convert the DDS files i have a little tool called DDSconverter, it can convert all files in the textures folder with just 1 mouseclick (Well and CTRL+A to mark them all). Most work is actually going to the Vue material list and editing every material to change the dds to PNG.

^well , when i rip the model it looks totally random, it's not the scene i see in the game, don't know what the matter :( , as for the textures i do nearly the same , but i use max's "ultra-boring" material editor.

as you know shenmue 1 scenes are the best in this periode of time :P

Did you check your settings in nullDC? Also how does it look in 3dmax when you render it there? The scenes are normally just scaled down (a lot) and the geometry is a bit stretched, but besides that they load fine. Are you using the stereoscopic plugin and nullDC_100b1_6? Also which OS and 3dmax version are you using?

Well after i import it into Vue, i just scale it up again, thats like 3 mouseclicks in vue. I'm sure you can as wqell do that in max but i never bothered.

^^ Make sure you have nothing checked in 3d ripper dx, you want everything unchecked. In max make sure the 3dr plugiin is set to the default settings. You shouldnt have to play with the material editor in max, the textures should already be applied.
