Forgive me for the wide range of questions...

Is it possible to burn all four of the 99 min files to a single DVD-R (obviously as image, not data)? Or would I be stuck using 4 of them? Or is it impossible to use DVD-R at all? I know DC wasn't a DVD reader but I don't know how technical these things can get. I don't have 99 min blanks.

How would I go about doing it for 1, if possible?

Help would really be appreciated.

It'd take a lot of hard modding with a very intimate knowledge of the Dreamcast itself in order for it to read DVDs. This would involve essentially building your own version too, which could take years to figure out.

Forget about DVD, optical drive emulators are the way of the future. And the Dreamcast is getting one developed as I type this. Its still largely in prototype and testing phase atm, but it works, and its a real device, not just some wild pipe dream.

That would be a better investment, and it has 100% compatibility with all Dreamcast software.

Stone age gamer, the same place that sells Everdrives already said they are backing this project and will be ordering large quantities of these and will be selling them on their site.

This is 100% better than the previous released but slow and incompatible with most games SD Adapter.

The other games sound fine, so the problem is certainly not on the console.

I played around a bit more though, and now I realized that the weird voices just happens on the cutscenes, when the black bars appear on the screen. The audio on the regular in-game conversations is fine... all the rest is fine too(music, sound effects, etc) and that makes it even weirder to me. Do you guys have any idea on this?

I have the same problem as above. Along with the slightly metallic voices during cutscenes, there's a scary burst of static towards the end of the opening intro movie with Shenhua. It's still playable, but I can honestly do without it and I'm just wondering if this is only a problem for a select few.

It happens to me too.
actually I think it happens to everyone and it's not a matter of burning options , simply most people don't complain about it , perhaps because it isn't their first time playing through the game and they don't care that much or something...
If there is anyone out there who doesn't experience these metallic voices during cutscenes please tell us about it.

I don't know what can be done to achieve normal sounding voices during cutscenes but if anything can be done I'm pretty sure it involves modifying this release

do you think contacting someone who made these would help?

If there is a trend of audio issues with the cinematics and the intro, I will eventually try to fix this in the 99min version.

Hello everyone. Is there anyone that I could possibly ask to send me (for a payment, if requested) the full 99 minute Shenmue 2 English version.

I really cannot afford to buy the 99 Minute CDs just for Shenmue, but I am absolutely dying to play Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast.

I hope I'm not asking for something that is against the rules. I'm simply a die hard Shenmue fan looking to play it how it was originally intended.

For anybody else wondering, I will be making a few limited copies for people that have trouble getting the 99 min cdr's. I am not trying to do this for profit, but I have to make a little back on it and as long as people can pay shipping I have no problem burning a few for people here.

I am currently waiting on a 30 stack of 99min cdr's, which were ordered Feb 28th, so should be getting here sometime this week or next I hope.

Gotcha Boss. I assume I can't transfer my Shenmue I save to this Shenmue II game since its a PAL?

^ Yes and no Yokusuka Martian. You can't directly transfer it, BUT there seems to exist a Shenmue NTSC to PAL Save Converter on many of the ISO sites, including Isozone. I have not yet tried it, since I am also waiting for the 99 min version, but it apparently works.

You can even get a head start in downloading/burning that, since it only requires a regular CD-R.
