Recreating Shenmue on NEW engine?

Ok, i have recently been trying to get into programing, i downloaded the unity engine, and was messing around with it. And it seemed like a very nice engine to make a game like shenmue, the graphics are pretty good, it can be complied for android, iOS and windows and mac very easily.

So want do you think we/someone should try recreating shenmue, step by step to get an almost identical game with much improved graphics/physics.. I know it would take alot of time probably years , but the end result would be awesome :)

Not to be a buzzkill but fan remakes like this usually get a cease and desist letter...

Had many people over the years try projects like this and after a while didn't realize how hard it is and just quit.
But Hey we got Shenmue Zero with all the fun of............raking leaves.

If you want to make a fan game then I suggest you keep it quiet until you release it.

I wasnt exactly meaning i should make it :P, we should all make a team and try , or fine some experienced programmers to help. lol but it would probably end up a fail :D

Count with me, Unity is the best choice. I already programmed a Shenmue style control-locomotion system for Unity, for another project that GboyKing started here, in the forum. You can try it by downloading the tech demos in that post.
