Confuse with character swapping.

Hello guys.
I was checking the shenmue modding section and i found some interesting things that could add more funny to replay the game. I used finish shenmue 2 one time every year but i'm a little tired for play the normal game again. So, i was thinking in tweak the game a little like changing Ryo to other character. My problem is about the main threads seens old and i don't know what is the tool for do this without many problems and if is possible mod in the dreamcast version. I need some help about it.

i think it's called RYO_ , it can be swapped with shenhua, a table, the sapporo machine, very low and transparent chars like dou niu , lishao tao, ren ..

in shenmue 1 it's YKB_( swapped with KYK_).
