Let us know your exact setup and what you have tired so far in detail. Then we can move from there.

I don't get this. I've described everything. It says it's mdf/mds files but it's GDI. I'm trying to burn the most recent one posted a few pages ago - not emulate. I've asked this thread and the topic creator in PM why I'm getting GDI files and everyone is just talking to me about the original version instead and won't acknowledge this new one at all. There's not much else to say either - the original version messes up audio at random times and doesn't seem to follow any logical pattern. Voices will stop but important conversations and text will continue - completely randomly. I want the one posted in celebration of the Shenmue III announcement, posted on page 16.

"You will need Alcohol 120% to burn the file (.mdf / .mds)."

I'm following the pictured instructions. I'm not being given mdf/mds file to burn.

When did you download your files? I literally just redownloaded it to check and was given .mdf/mds files. You downloaded the wrong version. Just redownload the correct version.

July 29th. I tried it 4 different times and kept getting a zipped file with about half a dozen bin files and 1 GDI. I showed one of my roommates too and he saw it happen. I'll try it again - maybe it was a strange host issue.

Yeah, see this is what I mean.

The bottom option. Added after Shenmue III announcement on a later page. It even says it's GDI but clearly below it in the 2nd picture, it says "to burn the file (.mdf / .mds)".

The 2 instruction pictures do not make it clear how to convert the GDI to this mdf or mds and do not resolve anything. Using extractors on them results in other odd files.

You don't have to convert anything. YOU'RE DOWNLOADING THE WRONG FILES.
The GDI version clearly says it is for GDEMU/USB-GDROM/Emulator.
Download either the *.mdf/*.mds version or the *.cdi version from the links above the GDI files.
Image
You're getting confused. The other links are not outdated. THEY ARE ALL UP TO DATE. They are just different formats. The GDI version was most recently added by popular request. It is for people who use GDEMU/USB-GDROM/Emulator.
The *.mdf/*.mds and *.cdi versions are for 99-min CD-Rs and are also up-to-date. I have told you before to download the *.cdi version but you keep saying there are audio issues, despite me telling you otherwise.

I suspect translation or real life language issues on my part. Oh well. I'm trying everything and something is mixing me up. I give up. I wanted this bad, I have a Shenmue tattoo, the game means the world to me.

Doesn't make sense either. I tried getting china 99 min CDRs and they were broken. This sucks. It doesn't even look like there's an 80 minute version and the 80 minute version I tried sounds bad. It was almost 50 dollars trying the broken 99 mins cd

There are no audio issues in the 99 minute version. The smith version had mixed up audio tracks, but not this one.

Is there any way to get this to work with lxdream or any other OS X Dreamcast emulator?

If not, is there a way to make it work with reicast?

I have no access to windows, only OS X and Android.

I just tried burning the .cdi with imgburn at 4x and got a "failed to send cue sheet" error after 3 mins.
Any ideas why? It's my first time seeing this.

I tried a 2nd time after a clean uninstall of imgburn (including registy clean and reboot) and got the exact same results.

Here's the log for my burn.

Sorry to spam but I just tried the process again with Alcohol and got the same send cue sheet error at 7.8%
This leads me to believe the problem is with my Blu-ray burner, I have a Pioneer BDR-209DBK.

Since I've already wasted 3 discs and I only have 10 I'm loathe to try again until I have a fix...

Do you have any other burners to test with?

I just remember I have and old macbook pro with a broken battery. I could plug it in and try it that way, provided the imgburn and cdi plugin are compatible.

I have some CDR 90's that don't seem to work for the CDR 99 files even if I overburn them. They are only 800 MB so I'm guessing they are too small, but I noticed that the CDR 99 discs I can find online are only 870 MB which still doesn't seem like it would fit the over 900 MB files.

The discs I'm using finish burning, but the Dreamcast won't read them as a game disc. I'm using the same settings that I used to burn the CDR 80 files a while ago, except I had to drop the write speed from 16x to 10x since the read speed on my CDR 90 discs is only 24x. The CDR 80 worked great through all of disc one, but disc two locked up on me early on.

Is anyone else experiencing an issue like this? I don't know if my discs are the issue, like I'm assuming, or if its something else.

The CDR 99 discs I found online seem to be the same RIS 99 discs other people are using. Does the game fit and play properly on a disc that only holds 870 MB?
