Ok Nice!

I supose by looking at the picture you imagined something related to Final Fantasy VII. Yeah! I'm planning to put Ryo Hazuki to FFVII. I actually watched videos about how to put models into the game and it does not seems hard to do. I have to separate Ryo's model into parts.

I didn't say nothing because I wanted to install the Bootleg with HD mods to improve the graphycal part of the game and I installed everything and tested the game just now.

I'll ask your opinion about wich model could we use. Passport or in game?

And I have rendered two versions of Ryo.

Original and black jacket (since FFVII is in a techno punk era):

The idea is to swap him with Cloud Strife, see Ryo using a sword (I'll try to use the katana for him) and doing omnislash.

Having FFVII configured with the bootleg, now I'm going to make the battle model to start the mod. I'm afraid about the textures. I'm not sure if FFVII engine will let me use the 8 or 9 textures that Ryo has. Maybe every model is limited but well... That's something we'll learn in a few days.

I have another surprise but I'll show this one when Ryo's going to be ready with the battle model.

I decided to go with passport Ryo.

Model is already divided in parts. I'm praying to see if it works [-o<

Ryo is a new gen model. He doesn't have "block union" or whatever is called so when you divide the model in parts you have to unify polys or the model will be have opacity on articulations.

Swapped the head with Cloud Strife.

As I thought. I think I must change Ryo's texture to make only one image to tex all the body. Is this posible? I never tried it.

Bleh :-&

That's the top I can reach without using tutorial. I downloaded a complete tutorial to continue this weekend.

It's possible with Simplygon, but I think you'd have to pay for it.

The tutorial I downloaded has a part to texture. I'll give a try.

EDIT: Qhimm forums, basically the temple of FFVII mods, was unable to open 'cause of traffic. Now it seems to work and I found the problem.

NEWS!

I finally made it.

UVW mapping. And fuck tutorial. I learnt by myself hahaha.

I finally made a unique texture for all Ryo's model. There are actually 2 problems but first, take a look:

Image

And finally, my 2 problems:

1st: I have to convert textures to GIF to keep alpha mask in the model. Final Fantasy softwares only works with GIF and BMP. The problem with BMP is that if I use it, I lose the alpha mask too. If anybody's able to make a bmp that keeps tranparencies... I'd be very pleased.

2nd: Alpha mask seems to be not compatible with FFVII so Ryo's hair is very bugged in passport and in-game versions. I need one of them. Please, can you guys, make the choice for me? I don't really know witch one I can choice.

Pic of 2 versions:

bitmaps doesn't support transparencies so you always need to make alpha maps like we did for gta sa

The problem is I lose the alpha mask when I save to BMP.

In GTA I convert textures to TGA. It's a faster way :-P

Anyway, the model is good enough. Alpha masks wont be showed better if I use BMP. It's just that GIF format make textures just a little ugly.

Done

After 3 shutdowns of the software to unify the model, I finally swapped the battle model. I don't know why but I lost the weapons textures. I'll find the problem.

And now, the in game pics:

PS: The bug you see on shoes is actually solved.

Next updates:

- Millenia's katana (the one I use for GTA San Andreas) instead of Buster sword.
- I'd like to rename "buster Sword" for "Hazuki's sword".
- New field and world chibi model.

New updates.

Actually I'm trying to find how to open VOB files to put the forklift into the game. Or I'll maybe go to a simple motorcycle swap.
But anyway, I've swapped all Ryo's versions lol. I'm re-playing the game to be sure there are no crashes and all models are placed correctly.

Some pictures:

Ryo chibi (field and worldmap model), motorcycle model and the wheelchair when Cloud falls into the lifestream. The last one is a joke
Notice the crest of his katana :D

Battle model with buster sword (changed to Hazuki's sword).

I'm actually thinking about the next Ryo's convertion. I think that I can make a mod for the fan game Avalanche (FFVII fighting game).

Oh, and this mod can be shared. As I always say; I'm not interested to keep them for my exclusive use. So if anybody wants to give a try, just ask me.

Last point: I always repeat that this awesome katana's model is not made by me. It's from a modder called Millenia. Hazuki crest texture is picked from a wallpaper of Ricardo.

This is awesome! Really well done getting Ryo into that game. Too bad I just don't care about Final Fantasy at all.
Maybe Ryo will make me play it.
