Shenmue playable in Windows 10 in nulldc?

Hello everyone! This is my first post to this forum. I got interested in this franchised as a result of the massive hype over Shenmue 3, plus a friend of mine, whose taste I value highly, has been recommending it to me, so I gave the game a whirl and am quite liking it. Maybe you could say that I am very fond of it, in fact.

But as fond as I am of playing this game in an emulator, I'm also really anxious to try out Windows 10. I would have totally upgraded by this point, but the only thing that's holding me back is the fact that I don't know if nulldc is going to keep working in Win 10. So, my simple question to you all is: has any of you tried to play Shenmue 1 with nulldc (or another emulator) in Windows 10 successfully?

It doesnt work on windows 8 so im guessing it wont on 10 (unless 10 is 'more' like 7)

I did get it to work on 8 in a 'Virtual Machine'
But it works fine on 7 so I see no reason to upgrade to windows 10

Windows 10 is confusing as rocket science, I laughed hard at those adverts that claim children of the future will grow up with it, it sucking fucks, it fucking sucks. Windows 99 FTW!

I prefer Demul than NullDC.

Does for me....kinda. It's strange, at first Shenmue I and II were working...then the wbflash file got corrupted somehow after long playthroughs, and the emulator kept crashing again and again until I figured out the problem (delete the file, it generates a new one). That sorted it out for a while, but then Shenmue II just doesn't work anymore...Shenmue I works fine however.

Tl;DR- It does work, but can bug out after a while in my experience. May just be my laptop configuration/being shit.

I am playing Shenmue in Windows 8.1 and it works perfectly well.

The main reason why I want to upgrade is to test simply test out the new OS. My mac laptop is quite old and could die at any given moment probably. I never want to get another mac because they're über expensive and because I don't exactly dig Apple as a company (Microsoft aren't much better, but hey..). Mac's newest OS's just kill my laptop, and it's only 5 years old. I think they do it quite intentionally to get me to buy another mac. I've been skeptical about switching to Windows because Mac still does have a lot of features that I value, and Windows 10 has a few of those and I just really want to test them out (on my desktop PC). Simple.

It's good to hear that at least Shenmue 1 works. I might try it out, who knows. If it doesn't work then I'll just go two steps back to Windows 7.

Demul is running better in Win 10 64-bit than it did in 8.1 64-bit for me.

Hole up, hold up! I have had ZERO problems emulating Shenmue in any OS from windows XP, Vista, 7 to 8.1 and finally 10. I have a 64bit PC so I know it works on that architecture. That is a shame it doesn't work for you guys, but there is always some reason for that. Be it Emulator settings, drivers, or other benign things.

In fact, I ran Whats Shenmue, Shenmue and Shenmue II all on my Windows 10 64bit machine natively in NullDC within this past week.

Thanks for all the replies! I've decided that I'm going to upgrade to W10 based on the latest responses.

On a side note, I hear many people saying that Demule runs Shenmue a lot better than Nulldc, but I honestly can't make it work myself. Would anyone be willing to help me with that? Of course I understand that we can't discuss it here since it involves searching for bios on the internetz, but send me a message or something if you want to help. I've followed a looot of guides and I just can't get it to work. I am playing the Japanese version of Shenmue, if that's any help.

If your desktop PC is powerful enough, better use the latest revision of Demul, as it's much more accurate and less glitchy than NullDC: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=48692

I wouldn't even bother trying it on your laptop though. ;)
